Anyone lining their envelopes??

Blair, on July 10, 2012 at 8:52 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 18

I started all the invite stuff last night and I had planned to line my envelopes but now Im not so sure its worth it. I got the small square flap so you would only see an inch of it anyway. This is the liner I picked.

Very pretty! I did line mine, or I should say the person who designed mine lined them. I loved it, it just gave it that added touch. I might have though differently if I had to do them all myself .. lol

I thought about doing it and I still think it's a nice touch. However, I ended up foregoing it because in all honesty it's just going to add weight to the invites (which might end up costing more to mail them). Plus, most people just throw away the envelop as soon as they get it anyway.

Liners definitely look better with pointed flap envelopes but it's not uncommon to see them in a square flap envelope. If you've already got the stuff, go for it Smiley smile

I have the A-7 envelopes, but I lined mine. I only had to do about 15. So it wasn't that many, so I really wasn't that worried about it. Because mine are pointed I totally think it was worth it.

Hi date twin! I'm lining my inner envelopes (A7 size). I ordered solid envelope liners from Paper Source to save a little time. I'll just need to adhere the liners to 80 invites or so, using glue dots -- although I must admit that I'm feeling the time crunch now. I'm also trying to get my invites out in the next few days. Eeek!!!

I'm sure your invites will look perfect whether you line them or not!

Yeah, lining these envelopes sucks. although they look great.

advice to other brides, buy them already lined or precut. Doing 70 of these is crappy.

ill post pics of the final product tomorrow.

I ordered mine from VP and they gave me the option to put that "security" lining in the evnelopes.. I customized it to say "LOVE" and it actually looks super sweet! Smiley smile maybe I'll post a pic later so you can see what I'm talking about..

I am lining my envelopes. i have a small square flap too. I made the liners myself using really good wrapping paper from papyrus.

    Blair - That's a really pretty pattern/color.

    I love the pattern..

am I the only one that doesnt really care about the envelopes or invites? I went simplistic with the invites knowing that everyone just throws them away anyway or are my friends and family just not sentimental? LOL Maybe its just me being lazy because there are about 150 of them.

@ Blair ~ oops, sorry Smiley sad

I always thought the nice ones were too expensive and heard ladies would find a better deal on ebay or a stationary store. My tips page was created before I knew about the groupon loop-hole. Since the nice envelopes are never a Free item, I never paid much attention to them.

I love that print! It is so pretty. I would like to do a liner for the invites envelopes, but it does seem like a lot of work.

I didn't line mine. I figured although it would look pretty in the end it would just end up in the garbage.

I lined my envelopes and the RSVP envelopes. I bought scrapbook paper from Micheals when they were 6 for $1, and used 1 page for both envelopes.

The hardest part of the whole thing was actually just making the template. I created it myself. After that, the rest was just trace cut, glue. I did 60 of them. I broke it up into 3 sessions, it went pretty fast. I think it made a huge difference to my invitations, and not too much effort. I'm glad I did it!

I broke it up into 3 steps, first was trace and cut (this was 2 sessions)

3rd was glue, I did all at once.

Oh, I also bought a stamp and stamped the back side of the envelope with my wedding color. The stamp was a big wedding cake and said love is in bloom. It was $4 at Michaels.

Let me know if you need hlep. I LOVE the paper you chose. It's beautiful!

I hand lined each of my envelopes - invitation... RSVP... Thank yous... Created my own templates - I even posted a tutorial on here ages ago. I think Haley has a link somewhere. Definitely time consuming but so totally worth it. Good luck!

I've been debating lining mine too, I don't know if it's worth it the effort to cut and glue 80 envelope liners in.

Plus I'm trying to be able to use a regular $.45 stamp on my invites.
