Anyone having a Sweetheart Table?

GeekyBride, on March 19, 2015 at 10:51 AM

So, we decided on a Sweetheart table. Everyone in the BP is married, except our kids, and I don't want to make married couples eat without their spouse. Anyone else having one? How do you plan to decorate it? I was thinking of glittering the letters for Mr. & Mrs. , and some candles.

We are... we aren't having a wedding party and this way we don't have to pick a side to sit with at dinner.

ETA: We'll probably use the same decorations as the other tables, but with my bouquet instead of the other flowers in the middle.

Sweetheart tables are not big over here, at least at the weddings I've gone to. But last year my little sister got married and she really wanted one. We set it up with linens and the tulle runner like the other tables (she did family-style seating on the top floor of an awesome barn - it was really pretty, and the light from the setting sun made everything glow, accidentally romantic!), and then I put vases for all the BM bouquets and for her bouquet - since the table was smaller, that was plenty of flowers. Behind her, her good friend hung up specially made Stringsoils (link below), which ended up being SO PRETTY. Especially since the alternative was an ugly wooden wall. I wanted to do something hanging for my wedding behind the head table, so I got the little terrariums and am using those to create similar look.

We are having one. We just got the throne chair reserved and our florals will be very similar. Also, our linen will be a sequined blush.

FH and I are having a sweetheart table for the same exact reason. The BM and his wife have 2 young girls (our flower girls- ages 1 & 3), so we figured it'd be easier to have them seated with his wife/bridesmaid's family so that there is extra help if they need it! We are going to put a reserved sign at the front of the table. I don't want an actual centerpiece at our table since it'll be so small, so I'm going to put my bouquet in a vase in the middle to help keep them alive longer. Since we're getting married in the fall, I also want to sprinkle fake leaves around the vase and all of the other centerpieces in the room. It'll hopefully look very simple. I think your idea is perfect!

I'm very excited about our sweet heart table! It'll be a sequin silver table cloth with orchids hanging over the front. Planning on having signs hanging on the back of our chairs that says Mrs always right and Mr right!

I like the idea of the sweetheart table a lot. Our bridal party is kinda complicated with mixed single, married, serious relationship, over seas relationships. I don't want anyone to feel awkward so I think having everyone sit with their family/friends might be best for us. I love your idea of the sparkly mr & mrs letters. Smiley smile

My bouquet will be the centerpiece and I'm looking to get the Mr & Mrs sign too.

Yes, a sweetheart table for us too! I hate the idea of separating couples and their families from each other, just because they so happen to be in the bridal party. Otherwise, what is the point of bringing a date if they are going to be seated alone among other wedding guests they don't know?

We will be using our floral arrangement from our altar and re-use it on our sweetheart table! I feel better about our flowers having more than one purpose for our wedding!

I was already doing one but my venue comes equipped with these little booths that sit higher than the seated guests (sort of on a stage) they can fit up to 4ppl each so we will sit and one in the in the center of the room and the bp will sit in the other tables. I can't wait!

Yes, I'm really excited about our sweetheart table. I'm hoping to use sequin table cover or runner with one of the florals from our ceremony altar. I found purple charges and long stemmed glass candleholders this weekend. Last night, I was in Walmart (and I can't stand going there) with FH and found a tiny wedding section...I had to look! I ended up buying a pretty silver glitter Mr. and Mrs. sign with ivory ribbong! Perfect! I'll use that most likely along the front of the table since ours is likely going to be set along a wall (maybe on a riser) in the room due to the shape of our ballroom. Our BP and family tables will be nearest us.

We're doing one! Here's a mock-up that I just set up on my dresser to make sure it would come together. I don't want to be hidden by something too elaborate, but I want pieces that will shine & capture our lovebirds theme. I got these pieces (except the wooden roses) from Hobby Lobby.

@Kassie R. a sweetheart table is (usually) a small circle table for just the married couple. It makes them the center of attention and gives the bp a chance to sit with their families or plus ones. I personally am not a fan of the bp at long rectangular tables I hate them. I call it the last supper table.

We're having one since we aren't having a bridal party. We plan on having a rosette table runner instead of the organza ones that are on the rest of the tables. We're also having my bouquet in the middle and candles around it. Plus I bought Mrs. and Mr. signs to put on it.

I'm all in favor of the sweetheart table, it was the only time during the reception that my husband and I got to spend alone. It was fun to decorate too!

We will have the same linens as the other tables and we will have an & sign with my bouquet and maybe flowers? I don't care too much what it looks like. I'm just sitting to eat.
