Anyone have a morganite engagement ring?

My FH proposed with a ring pop and I loved it! Now, we are shopping around for my engagement ring. I've never been a diamond type so I'm exploring other options. Does anyone have a morganite ring and would like to share your experience and perhaps a picture. Thanks!

I have a rose gold and morganite set. Like pp said, it does get cloudy pretty easily but just carefully clean it with a toothbrush and some soap and it'll be good as new!

@susan how often do you have to clean it?

I loooove my morganite. You do have to be careful with them they aren't as hard as diamonds. But they definitely aren't as fragile as everyone says they are. I knock mine all the time and there's not a single scratch in it. It's really not like if you knock it, it will shatter. I promise.

@Evesa I try to do it once a week to keep it super shiny but sometimes I get lazy and its every other week. Smiley smile I love it. I bang it all the time and have yet to scratch it!

@ Melissa-- right?! Like I'm rough on my hands too and my stone looks flawless--other than the lotion and grime buildup that happens to all rings. I just use a baby toothbrush and dawn or windex to gently clean when ever I notice it getting cloudy (generally every couple weeks)

Echoing PPs to say definitely look into moissanite. I love morganite but I wanted something that was almost as hard as a diamond so it wouldn't easily get hurt. They are absolutely radiant and sparkle like crazy.

I wanted a morganite as well but heard about how easily they cloud and damage. They are so beautiful though! Eta: I have a lab created diamond (assuming that's moisannaite but the seller and appraiser called it diamond since it's identical in properties so not sure of the terminology here) and it hasn't damaged or gotten remotely cloudy. I'm not gentle on my ring so it's a good surprise.

I haven't had a single issue with my Morganite. And I'm not the most delicate person with my jewelry. FH considered moissonite too, but we liked the look of the morganite in my setting better. It does cloud, but I shine/polish it up once a week and it's all good!

I think morganite is so beautiful! I ended up with a diamond instead for no particular reason, but I'd say if FH would've had a smaller budget or I didn't like diamonds I would've gone with morganite instead.

Make sure this type of stone will withstand any potentially damaging circumstances you might be putting it in. Diamonds are obviously much stronger but if you aren't super rough on your hands this may not be an issue.

My engagement ring features a morganite center stone and a rose gold band. I've wanted a morganite engagement ring since seeing one on a magazine. I did have my reservations at first because I heard from multiple sources that it's very high maintenance and fragile. I've had it for a little over 2 years and I haven't experienced anything awful. I don't wear it to work everyday (I'm a pre-k teacher). I don't think it gets dirty easily. I do have it polished every 6 months.

Mine is morganite in a rose gold setting. I don't really have a better picture. Depending on the light it can look different colors and it does seem to get cloudy pretty quick but I still love it. I don't wear this ring everyday so I haven't had a problem with it getting scratched or anything yet

Morganite does not fade in the sun. The GIA states this here: https://www.gia.edu/morganite-quality-factors

I also have a Moissanite ring that I wear to work in place of my "real" ering. I work with chemicals and didn't want to damage it. Love it just as much as my diamond! Also, in case you didn't know, Moissanite gems come in many different colors. You don't have to get white!

Morganites are beautiful and I love mine! Just keep in mind that they don’t sparkle like real diamonds and they can become cloudy/greasy looking. They attract oil and you’ll probably want to clean it weekly. Otherwise, it’s a unique stone for an engagement ring. I get compliments a lot and I like that no one else I know has one. I have a pear morganite and i love my stone..i clean it about every two weeks and it's more maintenance than the regular engagement stones but to me it's so worth it. I'm just as in love three years later. So elegant imo

Why did my morganite ring change to this color? Is it possible to fix it? We’re thinking of buying a new one because we think maybe the original stone was a fake... I do use hand sanitizer and wash my hands and go in the sun with it. But I shouldn’t have to avoid those things with a ring I will be wearing all of my life right? Did anyone get one from Jeen Jewels?? I think that may be a better option than a third party...Anyone have a morganite engagement ring? 3
