Anyone had their dress cleaned after Trash the Dress

"Trash the dress", my photographer said something like this, but I didn't know what she meant.. Care to explain?!

TTD is doing anything outside of the wedding in your dress. It can be as tame as walking through a park or really trashing it.

@Michelle, I would imagine a good cleaner could get anything out and preserve your dress. :-)

P.s. - I plan on doing a TTD shoot the day after our wedding because it's super bowl Sunday.

Ah, that seems like a really cute idea! I saw the pics shes talking about of Sharon and we talked about doing something like that.

Analy did a TTD shoot and it was awesome...she's gone right now but you can PM her and ask what she did with her dress.

I emailed the place that I might get my wedding dress reserved at and ask them if they can get out salt water stains and sand. Keeping my fingers crossed that they can. Then I just need to find a photog in NJ that can do the shoot. I want to use a different photog to get a different look than the wedding pics.

I'm just going to be buying an inexpensive second dress to do a TTD in. That is what Sharon did, they did theirs the day before their wedding in a different dress.

Check out bridal stores for bridemaids dresses in white (samples). I got my TTD for like $50. I had it regular drycleaned afterwards (no special preserving) and it came out perfect.

Reminder - I need to take my real wedding dress in and get it cleaned, just hanging in the closet.

I seen a dress at Boscovs that would be a nice dress to wear (I think it was like $30.00.)

Someone got an amazing dress from ebay for about $40 for their TTD.

Michelle, I'm going to start looking very soon in the homecoming section of dresses, and I'll also be going to DB and looking for bridesmaids styles. Almost all of their BM dresses come in white/ivory/pearl...it doesnt have to be exactly white for me.

I'm leaning towards one of these...I bought my dress at DB, so I get an additional $20 off any of these. If you want, I can give you my information, and you can get $20 off as one of "my bridesmaids" as well.

@Michelle - the feet is the one that we have a canvas of. It's huge and over the fireplace, but it doesn't look too "weddingy" - just looks like an artsy B&W shot. I love it

We have done several TTD sessions and have never had a problem getting out dirt and mud! We recommend that you get your dress to the cleaner within 24 hours however.
