Anyone getting married in La?

Jabelle, on September 4, 2019 at 11:29 PM Posted in California Planning 0 14
If so, how much did you spend on your wedding? I have approximately 200 guests and want to book a venue that has all-inclusive packages. I have one in mind but I want to see what the average wedding cost is in LA. Thank you!

    Hey Jabelle!

    Welcome to the WeddingWire community!

The WeddingWire cost guide is a really helpful planning tool to help you find out the average amount spent in a specific location on different wedding vendors. You should check it out, I think it’s what you’re looking for Smiley smile

Do you have a particular venue type in mind for your wedding (hotel, country club, barn, etc)?

    Hi Cliodhna,

Thank you for replying! Yeah, we have visited a few venues in LA already but I just wanted to compare prices for how much everyone spent as a whole. The WeddingWire cost guide looks like a good start to my search though, thank you. I am curious as to how much the average is. Smiley smile

Not LA, but Orange County. We've budgeted about $25k for our wedding, but it looks like it'll probably end up a little over that. Catering/alcohol will be the biggest part of the budget, probably close to 50% when it's all said and done (includes rentals and staff).

Orange County as well, and we ended up around $25,000 too. at least half of it was venue and catering, which we knowingly went with more expensive vendors, so it’s very possible to have a smaller budget and still have a nice wedding.

Im doing mine in long beach. My budget was $13,000 for about 100 guests and we're ending up only a few hundred $ over the budget. After looking at venues all over west la, malibu, montebello, pasadena, palos verdes, we found a few cheaper golf courses that had great venue coordinators in long beach and lakewood that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I'd really recommend reading venue reviews on weddingwire and theknot (and even yelp) before booking though. The reviews really helped narrow our decision down to our long beach wedding venue.

Our total budget was $20k for about 60 guests and we stuck with that budget. Even for a small wedding like ours, it's hard to find a truly all-inclusive venue under $12k. We ended up choosing The 1909 in Topanga, which has tables and chairs, a place for the ceremony/reception/dinner, parking, a catering vendor, photobooth, bar area, sound system, etc. We didn't check out these places, but we were considering Los Robles in Thousand Oaks and The Holding Co. in Downtown LA.

Definitely! Catering and alcohol is so expensive. We're hoping to spend only max $100/head for 200 people...so that itself is $20K (minimum) alone for us. How many people are you inviting and which venue did you chose? Smiley smile

60 guests is a dream since you have way more options! I think $20K is a good budget! You can get a lot more fancier options with that! Also, what a pretty venue!

$13K for all inclusive venue or for everything (includ. DJ, cake, etc.)? If that's for everything, that's so good! Which venue did you choose?

We currently have about 220 on the list, but I’m crossing my fingers that our final numbers are more like 150. We’re getting married at the Orange County Heritage Museum in Santa Ana. Thankfully, their required caterer has extremely reasonable prices for So Cal, but it definitely still adds up!

We have around 200 guests and wanted something in downtown LA or Pasadena. We were originally aiming for something around 35-40k but ended up splurging a lot more. In the LA area for all inclusive for 200 people the lowest I found was around 30k

From my observation the majority of the places are around 10 to 30k for about 100 to 150 ppl in some areas of dtla. This includes banquet halls, restaurants, museums and etc...The packages vary as well if you want extra services or staff. I decided not to do an all inclusive package because i wanted to hire my own vendors to save more money.

Most all-inclusive places I looked at in LA were about $120-$200 per person (average $150?) depending on the package you want. With service charge (22%) and tax (~10% depending on the actual city) a $150 per person ends up being ~$200 per person. With 200 guests that could easily become 40K + additional costs (flowers, DJ, Favors, Stationary, Dress)! Country clubs and golf clubs tend to have lower cost/person (<$100/person). Hope you found a venue that fits your budget!
