Anyone else wearing pantyhose?

lulu1180, on February 15, 2016 at 9:24 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 20

My mother ingrained it in my head from a young age that when you wear a nice dress, you wear pantyhose with it so needless to say, I will be wearing them for my wedding. For those that did or are planning on wearing them, did you match the color of them to your dress (white/ivory) or did you match your skin tone (nude)?

I know this is such a minor detail but I've been thinking about it and was just wondering what would look best and what others are doing.

Thanks for the input! :-)

I wore the panty hose sock things :-)

They saved me from my shoes rubbing my feet wrong, the helped hide the bandaids I had on my toes, and covered my feet when I eventually did lose my shoes.

I wore grey opaque tights. But, I had an overall non-traditional look (black/ white/ blue/ grey dress, knee length).

Planning on just the socky things. August is much too hot for pantyhose, not to mention fighting with them in the BR. I don't think I've actually worn a pair in a number of years.

As close to my skin color as possible. Ivory/nude? I'm really white.

I wore them to ease my shoes rubbing my heals raw and I had heard that satin can get hot and cause awful chub rub. I went with nude since I really wanted a few pictures with my shoes showing and wanted my ankles to look as natural as possible.

They ended up in the trash after my one and only trip to the ladies room.

Honestly, it will be completely unnecessary and also uncomfortable. No one can see your legs at all, I mean honestly they can't even see your feet. Also, you're getting married in June- in the SUMMER. You still wear pantyhose in the summer?? They only time I wear anything on my legs is in fall/winter or early spring when its still cold.

I don't think they are necessary, especially for a June wedding. But if you're going to wear them, I'd say nude. And no one is going to see them anyway.

I wore nude pantyhose. My ceremony and reception were in the same location (a hotel, I never went outside once I was dressed) and somehow forgot to put on shoes for my pantyhose were the only thing between my feet and the hotel rugs.

@annakay and MzRosaLu, yes, I am aware I am getting married in the summer. And yes, I still plan on wearing them. It is something that I just would feel very odd not wearing them while so dressed up. Not to mention, that early in the summer can still be a tad chilly.

Thanks for the input ladies, I think I'll probably go with nude.

I didn't even consider it. Had a ballgown and would have been too hot I think! Plus I had peep toe shoes. Bare legs for me! Smiley laugh

And absolutely go nude Smiley winking White seems so little-girlish! Unless you get white lacey thigh highs to go with some bridal lingerie Smiley winking

I won't be. I just find them so uncomfortable. Also, I'll be wearing converse so I want to have something I little thicker like little ankle socks so that I don't get blisters.

I may add them if it's supposed to be chilly, but I am not planning on it now. I'll wear nude if I do.

I'm shopping for nude or sheer black thigh highs. But only because the long-line bra I bought has garters, or I'd have bare legs. But I think I'll appreciate having them on to keep blisters at bay.
