Anyone else putting off a honeymoon for a few months

Just curious if anyone else is putting off their honeymoon for a few months after the wedding. I'm still in graduate school, so we're getting married over my spring break, then I get to head right back to classes on Monday! We are planning to go somewhere in the break between spring and summer...

Just curious if anyone else is putting off their honeymoon for a few months after the wedding. I'm still in graduate school, so we're getting married over my spring break, then I get to head right back to classes on Monday! We are planning to go somewhere in the break between spring and summer sessions, though, so I'm thinking it'll be a nice relief to put honeymoon planning on the back burner for a little while, at least until we get the wedding planning mostly done.

Lots of my couples do, and I think it's a great idea! It gives you a whole other cool thing to look forward to!

We are too! The cruise itinerary we wanted doesn't sail until the fall, so we will wait until November. If we have the budget we will take at least 2-3 days post wedding at a cabin or at Niagara Falls, though - for a minimoon.

We're waiting at least 6-12 months. I won't have enough PTO because our wedding is in my home state (12 hour drive) and we're taking 10 days off for the wedding week. We also hope to take 2-3 weeks off for the honeymoon since we'll go somewhere international.

I'm also in grad school, so we're getting married on my fall break and then taking our honeymoon over Christmas break. It wasn't anything that I ever thought that I would do, but I feel like it will be way less stressful if we wait.

My cousin got married in august and had her honeymoon in November. It saved her a lot of money and it gives you time to go through your gifts and get the thank you cards out of the way and then truly just enjoy your new life together.

If you need to then of course that's fine. Just keep in mind that most complimentary honeymoon packages at resorts are only valid within 30 days of your wedding date.

We're waiting 2 months. There's too much going on for me to go on a HM right after the wedding. We marry end of April, my son turns 18 in May and graduates HS in June. Our flight is scheduled for the 19th of June and I'm excited to have so much to look forward to from now until 4th of July!!

We're waiting until September so that we can see the northern lights in Iceland. I'm so flipping excited. Waiting will be hard.

We are doing the same. Especially now that we have big plans ahead of us right now. So this next month is super busy. But we are taking a small honeymoon next week just so we can spend our time together.

But we are planning on doing a trip in September or at latest around November. So that gives us time to save all the money that I'd like and we can have the honeymoon that we want to have. Hoping to do London/Ireland , but somewhere in Asia is our second choice.

No plans yet but we probably will wait at least a little bit. In my current job I really can't take off that much time at once.

We have to for pto reasons. This year we have 2 other weddings we have to go to besides our own. Plus money will be short for a while. So we might go next Jan and hoping to go south some where lol

We did. We wanted to go to Europe and found surprisingly cheap tickets a few months after the wedding.

We're getting married in June and looking at the honeymoon sometimes in July or August right now.

We are...indefinitely. lol Hoping for a cruise around our anniversary, but I didn't have enough PTO at work...I was only able to take the day before the wedding, the day of, and the monday after the weekend off. We stayed one night in a hotel, and then just went home to be together. Smiley smile

There's a gap of a couple weeks between our wedding and honeymoon, mainly because part of our honeymoon involves a tour. And I know someone who was recently married whose honeymoon will be in five months.

We waited a month. We got married a couple weeks before Christmas and New Years so there was no way we could both take off from work. I'm glad we waited because we didn't have to stress about rushing to leave the next day.

Yep. Wedding is in Oct. and honeymoon is in Dec. because Oct. is hurricane season.
