Anyone else getting married on a Sunday?

My cousin is Jewish and extremely religious so she would not have been able to attend my wedding if it were on a Saturday due to her beliefs. (They can't use electricity from sun down Friday to sun down Saturday.) Thankfully my FH understood how important my relationship with her was (She was there for me during some extremely tough times) and we decided on a Sunday wedding. After going to venues and seeing prices, we realized just how awesome this decision was. Are there any other Sunday brides out there? Why did you pick it?

I do Sunday weddings almost every week. It'll be awesome but just as a side note, Sundays are not always cheaper when they are in front of a Monday holiday.

    I like them!

There's nothing wrong with a Sunday wedding, as long as it starts in the early afternoon (I'm not sure what attendance would be if it started at 6:00 PM).

You're a very thoughtful and kind cousin. To base this decision on the needs of someone you deeply love is a true act of selflessness.

We are!! We chose Sunday because the date was important to us, and the lower cost was an additional bonus Smiley smile

I'm a Sunday wedding and it's amazing how you choose Sunday and you get the "question mark" face. I love it! I always loved Sundays and we will be the only wedding that day at the venue Plus the price was nice, but the big thing was the wedding is the day before my dad's birthday and Veteran's Day.

Thanks ladies! Now I don't feel like the odd ball out for having a Sunday wedding. Not sure why it's so taboo, but it was definitely the best option for us.

We picked Sunday because Saturday was taken at our venue. If people care, they'll show up. Heck, my sister got married on a TUESDAY and people came, so no issues. Also we have to be out of the venue by ten (park) so it isn't like we'd have a huge late night party going on.

We are! As soon as we found out our dream venue was way cheaper for a Sunday, AND we could dictate the time we wanted, we pounced on it. We are compromising, and having a 5-9 reception. We're not doing it on a holiday weekend, and we understand everyone else will be working the next morning. But I can get another day to get stuff done, and won't have to take too much time off before the wedding. Win-win in my book!

Our wedding was on a Sunday, and we loved it. We wanted that date, and then we realized most things were cheaper on Sundays, so it was perfect Smiley smile All our guests turned up. I thought some of them might make an early exit, right after dinner, but no, they danced the night away with us Smiley smile

As a guest, I like Sunday weddings. Church in the morning, lunch, then wedding. If it was a Saturday, I usually feel like I'm waiting around for it to happen.

We're getting married at 6 pm on a Sunday, didn't send STDs and 2/3 of those who we invited are coming (which was about what we expected because a lot of our friends are OOT and we're also young, so it's tough for a lot of people to take off work or they're in school and/or don't have money to travel). it was the latest summer date our venue had available, and we love the venue. it also saved us $1000.

ETA: I put Sunday on our invites, and my grandma still assumed it was a Saturday, apparently because she'd never heard of a Sunday wedding.

We had a Saturday wedding because it was easier for our OOT guests, however I've been to local Sunday weddings and they are more or less the same. They usually start and end a little earlier. Everyone still has a great time.

I'm on a Sunday. FH and I are both teachers and we are getting married over a 3-day weekend (Veterans Day). It seemed to make more sense getting married on Sunday instead of Saturday, kind of spread out the weekend a little bit more. It would give friends and family the weekend off with traveling and everything too. The lower cost on Sunday for the venue was also an added perk that came along with the day Smiley smile

We chose Sunday because one...I wanted to have it in October because it's the best time of the year in AZ, but two the venue we loved had nothing available any other day in October!

We are doing a Sunday wedding. We decided on it because Saturday was 3500 and Sunday was 1000. We are hoping that since the majority of our guests have off Christmas Eve, they wont mind taking off the 23rd should they wish to celebrate late with us.

We decided on the date first. We wanted a catchy date in the fall and 10/12/14 fit. I got even more excited when I realized it fell on the Sunday before Columbus a Sunday. Three-day weekend, woohoo! Once we started inquiring about pricing we realized that we had made a great choice because its much cheaper to hold a wedding on Sunday at thevresort and there would be no food and beverage minimums. This is awesome considering their person price. We also don't have to guarantee a 20 guest room minumum on Sunday compared to a Saturday wedding.

I'm super excited about getting married on a Sunday!!!
