Is anyone else having trouble finding a makeup style they like? i don't wear much makeup so perhaps that is most of the issue -- i was really uncomfortable with the amount of makeup and the last thing i want is to be uncomfortable on the day-of! i feel like i am being so picky (and feel awful for the artist, who is actually good at what she does) but i HATE makeup that looks like makeup -- ick.

i know it has to go on heavy enough to show up in pics but our ceremony is taking place on a beach and will be in natural light -- i don't want to look heavily made up. i have another trial coming up with a different artist and hope it will go better, but any suggestions?

I'm doing foundation, blush, lipgloss and mascara. Perhaps a very little bit of eyeshadow. I really want to look like I'm not wearing make-up but with my red face problems fixed Smiley laugh I feel really uncomfortable in pictures where you can see my eyeshadow and such. I just don't like the feeling that its obvious I'm wearing a bunch of make-up--even if its beautiful, well-done make-up.

Since I'm doing my own, I've done lots of practices. Put it on, go outside, take pictures. Flash, no flash. Come inside, more pictures. Wait all day to see how it wears after 9 hours, more pictures inside and out. Its helped me figure out what needs to be overdone [blush] and what doesn't make a difference with my face [eyeshadow.] And decide on a lipstick color-I'm going with a MUCH brighter pink than I normally would.

I had the opposite problem! during my trial run my hair and makeup was perfect. But the day of my wedding I hated it! we didnt have a mirror so i couldnt see what she was doing and we were already crunched on time after she was done so I couldnt change anything. She had brought the wrong colors and was not prepared. So make sure that its the same on the actual day to!

Another comment, if your used to doing your own hair and makeup and do a good job, i recommend you do it yourself. youll save tons of money and youll probably be happier with the results.

I too never wear makeup...needless to say after 2 makeup trials I decided that mineral powder foundation with mascera and lip gloss is all this girl is going for. Plus my fiancae said I look weird with makeup because all he has ever known is me without it. Go with your gut instint.
