Anyone else a chubby bride?

Cassie, on July 3, 2015 at 3:23 PM

I am a bit on 'fluffy' side...its never bothered me before...until i went and picked out my wedding dress...now all i feel is fat and ugly...and totally jealous of all the thin girls in their dresses. Any advice on dealing with this, or feeling beautiful in my dress as a chubby bride?

You look beautiful in your dress! That being said-- if you aren't confident about how you look, you still have plenty of time to work on getting more fit and healthy before your wedding.

I've felt that way, a great bustier underneath goes a long way! It makes me look so curvy and I love it!

Just remember, you have a man who loves you and you will look beautiful either way!

You look beautiful in that dress!! Stop fretting and if the arms bother you a lot then get a shake weight. haha I know it sounds crazy but it's what I'm doing too. I got a tea length a-line with cap sleeves and what i noticed from my pictures was my arms as well. My FSIL got a shake weight for her wedding and did it for a little while everyday till her wedding and she looked AWESOME! So just do that! Smiley smile

I have big hips, big butt and no boobs (B cup) so all dresses are loose on top and don't fit my bum. I found mine and it was the only one that I felt great in regardless of weight but will need a lot of alterations in top. It's frustrating because most places don't have a lot for us to try on, but you'll still be able to find something you love and feel beautiful in.

If you really are uncomfortable in your dress, you can always get the jacket that would add sleeves and cover the back. You have to do what makes you feel comfortable.

For the ones who said their FH wants them to "show it off", you can always promise that for the honeymoon. There was no way I was making a show in public.

The wedding dresses I tried on were like 2-3 sizes up from my regular clothes, I felt so huge! I think your gown flatters your body well.

When I was trying on dresses and not wanting them because of the back fat, my saleslady was awesome and showed my mom how to literally tuck it into my dress after it is done up --- try it out ... Snug and awkward but worth it Smiley smile

You look fantastic. I get down on myself when I see the pictures of my dress that highlight the batwings and backfat and then I move onto the next picture where my waist is the tiniest it's ever looked and my boobs look fantastic ;-)

Even the model-skinny girls have bad angles. The confidence you'll have when you walk in wearing that dress will hide every last "flaw" you think you have.

I think your being silly about your arms, but if it makes you feel better, how about a wrap?

Your dress is perfect! I am in the same boat with the curves so I also got a sweetheart neckline which is recommended for our shapes. My arms and back fat were bothering me too so I gave up bread and pasta about a month ago. It has made a huge difference and I am feeling so much better about the wedding photos. Confidence and a killer bustier do wonders!
