Anyone bought insurance on their engagement ring?

I have a certified appraisal from Shane Co, ALONG with the GIA grading report, so I'm praying that's enough and the insurance company doesn't ask for a third party appraisal!

Yes, I swear by Jewelers Mutual and they have been wonderful! Their rates are reasonable as well. I decided to get it outside of my home insurance in case something happens... I don't want my homeowners insurance to go up.

Be careful attaching it to your home or renters policy because if anything happens your rate may go up. I was robbed once and had to put in a claim against my renters insurance and it resulted in not only my renters insurance going up, but when I went to get homeowners insurance it caused an issue with higher rates as well because I had a claim in the past.

We added it to our renters insurance with Lemonade. It was super easy. Just make sure you have your ring appraised with paperwork!

You can include it on renters insurance. One thing I would recommend is having it appraised by a jeweler other than the one where it was bought because it may be worth more than you paid.
