Any tips from brides that did their wedding under Wedgewood?

Margel & Jake, on May 12, 2020 at 1:21 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 13
Hi guys!
My fiance and I have decided to do our wedding in one of Wedgewood locations. We already put our downpayment. We are just so excited!

I havent met any of the employees nor been to their place but I trust the photos and reviews online. We did the premier package and have added fancy chairs and drapings so far. We might book a lighting vendor somewhere.
Any tips from other wedgewood brides? Also, could you take a photo of the wedding binder they gave you? Thanks!

I wasn't married there, but attended a friend's wedding at a Wedgewood location. Overall, it was a pretty typical cookie-cutter type wedding. Nothing stood out too terribly in the positive or the negative except the dinner (appetizers were fine) . It was awful. Could have been the meal choice (steak, rice pilaf, veggies) or a mess-up in the kitchen, but it was hands down the worst wedding food I've ever had. The meat was so overcooked and bland that I couldn't finish chewing it and the veggies and rice were very "blah". I couldn't even finish my plate and neither did half of our table. That being said, one of our friends ordered the vegetarian option (pasta in a basil cream sauce) and that was amazing! Our entire table passed it around to try to get a few bites of something edible for dinner. That was my only experience at a Wedgewood location, so my only caution would to be to choose a dinner option that doesn't require as precise cooking as steak.

From what I remember, the DJ was pretty standard. I think I remember him playing a lot of hip hop that wasn’t very easy to dance to, but it was a couple years ago now, so it’s a little foggy. Didn’t stand out in the positive, however.

Hi! I'm getting married at the Galway Downs location in Temecula. My sister got married in Corona at that location last year. It was a great wedding and overlooked the mountains. Everyone we have spoken to so far has been very nice, helpful and I love that they gave us a wedding binder with dates and important information. It also helps to have vendors through them, makes it way easier on us.

What location did you go with?

I wouldn’t recommend. So many couples (including myself) who have been impacted by COVID funds are held hostage. If you book and end up in the same predicament, thousands will be lost.

They said you can change the date. I understand if you want to cancel but most people would probably just postpone knowing what we know now

I wouldn’t recommend them they will cancel your wedding and keep your money. In my book they are so rude when trying to get a refund. They have almost 3000.00 of my money and no wedding. They said she could get married on her date somewhere else and have her reception at the venue next year so we decided that could be a option but when we contact them to do that we were being charged for the whole wedding but we’re only going to get the reception this company is a joke. Run as fast as you can unless you want them to take your money and give you nothing in return.

To be fair most wedding venues have all of this written in their contract, if you cancel for any reason you won’t get refunded. Did they cancel or did you? If it was then that’s a different story, but also still depends on the contract.

They canceled we did not. In the contract it states if we cancel or changed the date then we fortieth the money and we did neither.

I would NEVER recommend this company. We tried to cancel our daughter's wedding due to COVID and they wouldn't refund over $5000, we even asked for the refund only if they were able to rebook the date in July. We have a lot of elderly and now with mask wearing, and limited numbers per table, this was not what we had hoped and planned. They've had the $5000 for over a year, and they aren't even apologetic about keeping it. Like someone else said, criminals. They are preying on people during a pandemic.
