any theme'd ideas for couples who've met online?

MRSDarlin' Now!, on November 22, 2009 at 8:47 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

Hi ladies. My FH and I met online 7.5 yrs ago.. i was trying to think of a theme for the wedding.. it's not a huge deal, i could just go without one, but i wanted to be sure to incorporate as much of our story and our personalities into the wedding as possible. I wanted to do something that represented both of us and our journey that was understandable to the guests.. not something they'd have to sit and ponder over why we choose those favors or those table ideas, etc.

Any ideas or are any of you brides to be or just married ladies meet your FH or Hubbies online? or have a LDR who did something along those lines in your theme?

As for a theme that's kind of hard, but you may want to think about the site that the two of you met on and the colors of that site for your wedding colors (i.e. facebook is blue & gray). As far as favors you can have custom ordered cookies made into little computers to give your guests at the end of the evening or something like that, but as far as a wedding theme I'm not too sure, that's a tough one.

    Best of luck!

I'm with jae, i was thinking an email/website theme...laptop grooms cake...heck, if you DIY your invites, you could probably make fancy little webpage look-a-likes Smiley winking favors could be little technology themed cookies, or you could do square cookies, with a "aimee&fh.com" kind of thingy...or something like that lol...sounds like alot of fun, actually!

You should have your officiant include a cute love story of how the two of you met, he actual meeting, and first impressions!! you could even put the website on a slide in your slide show for the reception

These favors are very pricey, but you can use them as inspiration. I love the keyboard magnets that spell out LOVE, if you're doing your own invites or STD, you might be able to somehow incorporate this image. Also use the cute phrase from the mousepads on a less expensive favor, "We Clicked". Maybe you can use the Bride and Groom computer dusters as a centerpiece on your head table.

There's also some cute chocolate favors that are computer related:

My FH and I met online so we've decided to play the intrumental to the song "Computer Love" either as the reception entrance or some time throughout the night. We are also doing a video to be shown during dinner that will include the story of how we met.

I met my fiance on craigslist while shopping for a puppy...I designed our invitations to look like a craigslist ad....man seeking woman....and the heading he had in his ad, complete with the craigslist logo and the details of the wedding under events...it turned out really cute....
