any other brides not having bridesmaids?

Ashley, on March 31, 2011 at 12:08 AM Posted in Planning 0 14

My fiance and I decided not to have bridesmaids or grooms men to help save money. Do you all think that's weird? Should I just suck it up and have bridesmaids and groomsmen lol?

No, its your wedding. Do what you want. And if you do decide to have attendants, have them purchase/rent their own stuff.

Well... having bridesmaids and groomsmen doesn't really add too much money... I mean, I'd just say that having them is a very special and long time traditional thing to do. It's great to have all of your close friends by your side on the most wonderful day of your life.

And in terms of the financial issue: as a general rule of thumb, the wedding party always pays for their own clothes and such, as well as for your bachelorette/bachelor party. The only expense that you'd really end up with for having them be a part of everything is giving them a little gift. So, I'm not sure what you're thinking of as far as costs go.. but i'd definitely say that it's very special to have them experience this great period in your life with you.

It's your choice. You do what you wants. Your wedding is about you & your fiance. Who cares what anyone else thinks. If you don't want to use them don't. But if you want to have them do. They are suppose to buy there own outfits anyways. All you need to tell them is the color, lenght, style you want them to wear. Remember they are to accent you & your fiance.

We didn't and it was one of the best choices we made. No drama. No extra cost. I highly suggest it.

We are only doing a best man and maid of honor. FH wanted a best man, and one of my good friends has helped me through so much in the past few years I wanted her to be my MOH.

And it definitely reduces the drama, no worrying about if ALL the girls like the dress or color. And I could care less if MOH throws me a shower or not! Smiley winking

I decided to just have my younger sis and his younger bro as our honor attendants to save on the drama and costs.

I say go for it... it's your day, you can do whatever you want.

I'm only having a MOH, my goddaughter. She's the one I love the most and I am glad to have someone there and she can hold my bouquet and FH's ring during the ceremony. Plus, she is thrilled to have that role.

I asked my 3 brothers to stand with us. For me it's all about family, and I can't think of anyone who has been there more or helped me through as much as they have. FH has his best friend so it all evens out, and he was glad not to have to pick and choose between his friends.

We're not having any. I have 2 best friends that I wouldn't be able to pick between. Also, they both live far away and are busy so my fiance and I have pretty much been planning this thing on our own. He doesn't have any super close friend or relative that he wants to be a best man so we said to h--- with it. Save some drama.

I had 3 bm and 3 gm and they were all in charge of their own dresses and tuxes. It added no cost to our wedding. If you want bm and gm you have that option.
