Any Nirvana or Chevelle fans here...

I'm not sure if they have acoustic versions of their songs...and the lyrics are a little odd for a wedding with the slower ones. i was laughing so hard when i read this, because i have actually made FH a zombie cake for his bday before. however, it will not happen for the wedding.

Love Buzz is really the only Nirvana love song that I can think of. It would definitely be a fun song to walk out to. I'm not to familiar with Chevelle save for a couple of songs . . . If you want a slowish Nirvana song, anything off of their "Unplugged in NY" album is amazing. Can you tell I'm a fan? Lol.

I am not sure they have acoustic songs either. I do love Nirvana, but I am def more of a country girl. Would he settle for another rock song?

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE Nirvana but none of their songs I can really think of screams walk down the aisle worthy.

I've never heard of Chevelle, so I can't help with that. Vitamin String Quartet does instrumental versions of some Nirvana songs. They are all kind of dark though (the lyrics). Maybe use one for your FH and officiant to walk out before the processional? I couldn't find "Love Buzz" but an instrumental version may exist.

I love Chevelle although I can't think of a song that would work. Any other rock bands? Disturbed, Shinedown, Tantric, Skillet, etc.?

How long is the aisle? I love the beginning of Glycerine by Bush and it's around :30.

He does enjoy other rock bands but I know those two are his favorite and just wanted to do something special to surprise him

FH and I are both Nirvana fans but found it hard to incorporate them. I would say Love Buzz maybe for entering the reception when you guys are being introduced. Maybe About A Girl, at the end Kurt says I Do, I Do, I Do over and over again. That could be cute but the lyrics aren't necessarily "wedding like."

Does he like Foo Fighters at all? They would be easier to find something for the wedding. We are having our First Dance to the acoustic version of Everlong.

I actually found a piano cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit and its nice and slow, not the typical rock tempo. I like it! It's definitely one of the top picks now.

Why not let him get a grooms cake for the wedding? Lots of folks do that!

As far as the music I struggled with a similar situation except FH and I love foo fighters., Which by the way have many of the same band members from nirvana.I ended up going with "this will be our year" by the foo fighters originally done but he zombies. It's slow and perfect. We are using it for our first dance song. Maybe he'd like that? It's Dave grohl, pat smear you know the foo fighters : ) same guys as nirvana hope that helps!

Eventually gave in and let him choose more things too. For example he wanted his own song to walk down the isle to with his GM when normally they'd walk with BM. So that are goin first to a song from the kill bill vol 1 soundtrack, followed by my girls to their own song followed by myself and my song. And when it's all done our processional is Indiana jones theme song LOL ; ) it's his day too. I was so caught up o. Keep it traditional, once I let that go and embraced . . .

I agree that a piano or string quartet would be best. You gave me an idea. FH and I LOVE Nirvana and we liked the Vitamin String Quartet cover of "Heart Shaped Box" it is a tad haunting and I love it.
