My wedding is May 16 in Dahlonega, GA. We are still planning on moving forward with the wedding!! 90% of our guests are local or within driving distance and have confirmed that they will still attend.

No. I had to postpone my May 2nd wedding. It's too dangerous right now on the West Coast, where 90% of my guests are located. Not to mention our parents are already in their 70s, so this is for their health and safety.

Even if the SF shelter-in-place restrictions don't get extended past April 7th (ha, fat chance), I'd expect social distancing restrictions to remain in place for MONTHS--not conducive to a wedding or any celebration environment.

Honestly, it really is foolish for May couples to delay the inevitable--unless you severely downgrade your expectations. Things will only get worse in the next month, especially in the rest of the country.

Well I hope your wrong!! But you may be right lol but as for me our wedding is at the end of May and they can’t do this for ever bc we will fall in to a recession in which we may not be able to get out of. I don’t think it is very nice to call us foolish. I see you are a tad bitter which I understand but no need say we are foolish ! I hope your venue gave you a great date!! I do have a plan b and have our back up date in October but pray I won’t need it ! This post was made for us who were pushing forward not people who have postponed and be judgmental of us . Have a great day and I’m sorry you have to postpone

I'm not bitter, I'm a born pessimist. As a software engineer with a test background, it is my job to look at worst case scenarios and plan for them. My wedding is postponed to October but I'm not confident that it will be be possible.

If I am bitter though, it is because I'm sitting here at home, alone (not allowed to see my fiance, who l don't live with), recovering from what is likely a mild case of COVID-19. I can't get tested.

Mine have already been sent and rsvps due April 5th but I’m pushing that back. I have a smaller wedding 65 people to include children. They are all aware of the possibility of postponement
