FH and I are trying to get a theme going for our wedding.. we were going for the "fall/autumn" theme, but we are not wanting something more.. less complicated. FH and I are trying to get a theme going for our wedding.. we were going for the "fall/autumn" theme, but we are not wanting something more.. less complicated. We were shooting for Red, orange, yellow, green and brown as our colors. I still love that idea, but I want something more intimate, more subtle. two colors would be nice. we thought about taking my favorite color and Dan's favorite color, but his favorite color is dark blue and we cant think of anything that would look good with that color. So now we are thinking of an Italian theme, I am Italian, Dan LOVES Italian food we both are huge wine drinkers, we love us some good wine Smiley smile

so does anyone have any ideas? we certainly don't.. any ideas would be great Smiley smile

We are having a rustic Italian theme. We are serving Italian food. Our cake is tuscan marbling with grape vines running up the side. Our invites and rsvp cards had the coliseum. We are giving out oil bottles for favors. Our save the dates were passorts and the invites were sort of boarding pass style... all to suggest that everyone is taking a trip to Italy. Our "guest book" is actually Italian postcards that the guests will write their well wishes on the back of. We are putting them in a box that looks like a suitcase with Italian stamps on it. (one of those decor boxes you can get at Michaels). We are having Italian music during cocktail hour. And we have a giant poster of the coliseum and we some paintings of Italy around the room for decor. We are serving Limoncello and Sambuca for the after dinner drinks. Our colors are pale yellow and silver gray. The centerpieces are more rustic with lots of branches and daisies. On the table each guest has a yellow butterfly with a card

Attached that has an Italian saying and then the English translation. Oh... I forgot. We have two cakes. One is traditional and the other "groomscake" is in the shape of Italy with Amore written on it.

Just remembered one more thing.... Our table "numbers" are going to be postcards from Italy and we'll be using the table names instead.

Aw those are all such a great Idea's!! I cant wait to show/tell them to Dan!!! I did show him dark blue and yellow wedding ideas on google and he said he liked them! So I think that is where we are now!! I really like gerber daisy's and sunflowers, to me, are a must. I dont care what other flowers are incorporated, as long as those two are Smiley smile

I love the table number on Italian post cards idea! We came across a website that was DIY table numbers that stick to wine bottles, and the wine bottles then look customized for each event. So it will say table numbers and our names and dates and whatever else we want to put on there.. Maybe the different cities or Italian sayings.. I love all of these idea's, im getting really really excited!!
