I was diagnosed with Celiac in July, which drastically narrowed down what I can eat, especially since I'm a vegetarian. My question for anyone that has Celiac (or anyone with dietary restrictions in general) is what you did for catering? I feel bad having my guests eat gluten free pasta and the expense is crazy ($900 for gluten free cupcakes and $400 for a single tier wedding cake - expensive for Utah). I am wondering if I should order regular food for everyone and see if the caterer will be able to do one GF meal? Or should I make it easy for them and get GF for everybody? We were planning on stations with a carving station, pasta, and salads. Oh, I should also mention no seafood or nuts/tree nuts because my kids are deathly allergic.

I have Celiac disease & since I was the only one that could not eat gluten, I certainly wasn't going to force everyone else to eat gluten free as well. Talk to your caterer. A good, professional caterer has to deal with food restrictions constantly & knows how to successfully & safely pull it off. My caterer was amazing & basically made a separate, gluten free plate just for me that was also prepared in a dedicated section of their kitchen. As for the cake, I chose a baker that had gluten free options & also understood the severity of Celiac disease & made the bottom tier of our 3 tiered cake gluten free. Literally everything else at my reception was full of gluten & off limits, including the dessert bar. Since I was the minority, I made sure I had I had my dinner & dessert & that everyone else was taken care of accordingly.

I myself have Celiac. FH's sister is a celiac vegetarian like you. We explained to our caterer and we are doing some dishes that are gluten free that were made known on our rsvp card. For our cake the bakery is doing the cake we will be cutting gf and it will also be big enough for our few gf guests. We will also have a sheet cake that is regular red velvet cake for non gf guests.
