Are any of you brides cooking for your big day?

I prepared and cooked nearly all of our food, alone and with a hangover. Granted, it was nothing difficult because we had cocktail sausages, shrimp, 4 types of sandwiches, a large meat and cheese tray, a fruit tray with fresh blueberries, pineapples, and grapes, chocolate covered strawberries, and a veggie tray with baby carrots, celery, cucumbers, and ranch dip. So you see, most of it didn't need cooking at all. It was enough for 50 people with plenty left over. If I can manage that, you can def do it. As far as set up and serving, my family and friends handled that while I was getting ready. They wouldn't have let me clean up if I tried, lol. Good luck.

That sounds like a good idea! you will surely impress your guests when you tell them that it is all homemade! I would love to do that but I really dont have the time or cooking abilities..wish I did!

The biggest party I've ever cooked for had a guestlist of 30.

That was a bit much for me but everything was made from scratch.

I wouldn't do it for my wedding because it just wouldn't be worth the headache but I think it can be done.

If I were going to do it-

    1. def get help

    2. I would cut down the menu, the spaghetti could be cut out.

Definitely come back to post pics/advice to other brides that are going to do this.

I am cooking for my wedding August 18th, for 125 people, the food will be delivered to the hall that early afternoon. I have hired two girls to take care of the food to make sure the trays stay filled, and the food is hot. I won't have to worry about that at all. This has saved me alot of money since I am on a very tight budget as well. We are having, BB chicken, meatballs, Ziti, pulled pork, roasted potatoes, pasta salad, baked lasagna, fresh veggies, from our garden. And I know everything will fall into place, it is just stressful to think of all I have to do, but I have help from 2 special people. Smiley smile
