Any alternative ideas for a dance floor?

Casey, on August 29, 2019 at 7:29 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 3

We just found out that due to the historical nature of our venue, they do not allow dance floors. The space we wanted to have the DJ is carpeted, we cant hang anything from the walls or ceiling either...does anyone else have ideas on how to define the dance floor in a classy way so it looks a little less random/empty?

Any ideas would be great! Thanks guys Smiley heart

Can you use lighting to outline the dance floor? Is it an indoor or outdoor venue space?

If this venue hosts weddings often, the venue should be able to make recommendations based on past events.

I had this same issue at a hotel I worked at once. In the end, we set up poles (in stands) the type you use to create pipe and drape and then we strung string lights across it. We started in one corner and zig-zagged back and forth over the dance floor. You could probably find pipe and drape pieces for rent.

Welcome to the community Casey! I really like the idea of defining your dancefloor with lights. I think it would look really pretty and there would certainly be no confusion as to where your dancefloor is!

    Is your dancefloor indoors?
