Any advice on maintaining weight?

JPB808, on June 27, 2016 at 12:06 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8

So I just went to my first alterations (only really needed one for adding a bustle and hemming my dress) and everything went great. However lost about 5-8lbs and my dress is looking great however I'm worried if I lose anymore I'll have to get my dress taken in by my hips (my mom and FMIL mentioned if I lose anymore weight the hip portion of my dress may need to be taken in because it may not form fit my body the way it should). Any advice on how to maintain weight? I really wanted to lose a total of 10-15 lbs but I may not be able to/want to if my dress needs to altered again.

I was thinking alternating weeks of working out? However I'm unsure. Help please.

And the back (left is first taken in November) and right was yesterday....

The widest part of my the hips portion of the dress is what I'm worried about ); as I can tell by wearing it it's not as snug as before. That part can't be tighten in the back as its laced as tight as it can go.

Okay not to be graphic or anything but that part looks to be right on your butt.. SQUATS! Bigger booty to fill out that area. Idk if that's the advice you're looking for but squats can't hurt, right?

Not sure when you typically workout everyday. For weight loss it's best to do morning before breakfast. So if you want to maintain weight go for exercise some other time of the day.

That dress is gorgeous! The best way to maintain weight imo is to exercise more and eat less sugar and fats.

If you're doing Cardio, don't do more than three times a week and if you're doing muscle building, keep doing what you're doing. The only thing that I would suggest that you change is your food intake. Pay attention to how many calories you're burning doing cardio and then make sure you're eating those calories in carbs or proteins. That should keep you stable. Speaking with a nutritionist or using myfitnesspal would help with this kind of calculation.

@Erin- I had to laugh at your response...I'm Portuguese and in my family we have wide hips, thick thighs, and a medium sized bootie. I'm personally not one that loves big booties though lol. My grandmother had a large bootie (and I mean very large with wide hips) and I'm scared to death to have a bootie that big IMHO.

@Jiada- I'm not really a morning person, so I've been working out everyday week day after work (around 430/5p).

@Amanda B- Thank you so much. It was actually the first dress I tried on, and just fell in love with it. I don't really have a sweet tooth, and for the past two months I've been eating healthy (with the exception for the weekends) and my weight has been dropping slowly.

@Tallah- I'm doing the 21day fix eating plan and using the dvd's to exercise. Except I'm using myfitness pal instead of the containers that's provided. But I'll definitely pay more attention to my calorie intake compared to how many calories I'm burning...hopefully that will help.

I would just hate to spend more money on alterations when I can easily try and just maintain my weight (even though I main goal was to lose 10-15lbs).

Thank you so much ladies! I was seriously stuck on what to do.....alternating days by eating whatever one day, work out the next. Or workout for a week and then rest for a week. Or even keep what I'm doing and just work out every other day.

    The frustrations.
