Hello all! I officially HATE rsvps with a passion. Not the rsvp themselves but the lack of response to them! Hello all!
I officially HATE rsvps with a passion. Not the rsvp themselves but the lack of response to them! Our rsvp date was aug 31st, yesterday September 1st I sent out messages saying that if I didn’t hear from them by September 3rd, they’d be marked as a decline. I still have 11 house olds I haven’t heard from! I hate that I can see that they read my message, yet they still didn’t reply?!? Like seriously!
On top of that FH added 2 more people to the guest list, after the rsvp date😑 granted it was a military friend who we were sure if they’d be back or not, they apparently got back (out of quarantine) yesterday so there’s that

I had a few people tell me the either totally forgot to send it in, or the didn’t realize what day it was😂 which is fine. My FH says after the 3rd to just mark them as a no sense I have already reached out once, but I feel like I need to message/call people one last time

My fmil got a text telling her that the person didn't wanna send theirs in and to tell us they are coming and what they are eating like whatttt? also was going to put it in the mail today but decided just to text. I get if you're old or something but they're in their 30's crazy lmao.

That is frustrating. The 'read message' can be deceiving because they may not have read it. Some phones are designed in such a way that swiping at a text or email popup may mark it as read even if it wasn't opened, so that is a possibility.

Hopefully you are able to get everything squared away soon.

One of my moms friends told her she was coming and to tell me. Well we invited her and her husband, so was he coming too? Of course my mom didn’t know the answer to that! Thankfully we did end up getting their rsvp in mail😂

I would try texting those who haven't responded and if they don't respond, call after 24 hours.

I completely understand! I get that COVID has everyone on their toes, but a lot of them just aren’t bothering to send RSVPs because it takes too much effort. I just sent out a group message to all the people who hadn’t RSVPd for my bridal shower and had several people who forgot to RSVP. Several told me they weren’t coming and 5 others would read all the messages but not reply once. I have a feeling that in 2 more weeks I’m going to go through the same thing with wedding RSVPs.

That would definitely be bothersome but in all honesty, if they read the messages, that's on them. Once the deadline is over and they haven't responded to any of the messages, that's just telling me it's a no. As aggravating as it is, I wouldn't stress to much over it. They can get mad if they want. Hopefully no one tries to show up the day of with any excuses.

What vendor needs their payment by the 7th? The only vendor whose deadline should really dictate the RSVP date is the caterer. It sounds like your RSVP date was set far too early.

LOL honestly! Like this isn't free. We need to know or we wouldn't be bothering you with it.

Our designer. The rsvp was set a month before the wedding to give me enough time to chase people down

Oh, never mind then; 30 days before the wedding is a reasonable RSVP date!

I've yet to hear from a bride that didn't have to contact people after her RSVP date, that's just a part of wedding planning. We sent out save the dates 10 months in advance, invites 3 months in advance, and guests had the invites for 6 weeks before they had to respond. And they could RSVP via website or in the mail (we included stamped & addressed envelopes). We invited 225 total. When our RSVP date came, we had to contact 71 people. 24 hours later, we only needed to hear from about 20 people. We reached out again a few days later. Eventually we got all our responses. It helped that my husband, his dad, and my mom reached out too.

Yes minted has this too where you can send an email RSVP reminder by just clicking a button and typing a message which goes to any "awaiting reply" guests. Wish I had know that and gotten emails!! I'm realizing I don't even think I have phone numbers for some of these guests -___-
