Announce Unofficial After Party at Reception?

I wouldn't announce it if you're not paying. Just spread it by word of mouth.

We did this. Spread it by word of mouth beforehand. We paid for plenty of booze during the reception of course, but no one was assuming we were paying for drinks at the bar.

We did this and we spread it by word of mouth and on our website. We provided food for everyone but people had to pay for their own drinks. I don't think people expected to have food/ drinks paid for so to at least have food guests were pleasantly surprised. And it was Mexican food so no complaints. I'm not sure many people actually drank because most of our guests were feeling good at this point.

We did this as well for our after party. We put it on the website and also spread by word of mouth. I think I worded it on the website as a "no-host afterparty" for those that needed clarification they would be responsible for their own drinks, though I really don't think many people would expect to be hosted at the after party. We did provide lots of casual apps on all the tables we reserved and brought the whole bottom tier of the cake we had left over. It was a hit!

I was wondering about this as well! Our venue has an on-site bar that is separate from our reception booze. I will have to keep this in mind
