Super April 2020

Am i too early in buying these things?

Anna, on June 10, 2019 at 4:44 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 34
My wedding isnt until april 2020, but I am excited to buy stuff for me. I'm talking more about a veil, bouquet (which will be fake flowers), things like that. I ended up getting my wedding dress way to early. I dont want to make that same mistake again. Should I wait to buy these things or get these now?

Our engagement will total be a little over 2 years. My thoughts of what I wanted at the beginning of that two years versus now is pretty different. So if there are things you are absolutely set on, go for it! But if you may change your mind and have to spend more money to change it later, I would wait a little bit.

I bought everything as soon as I could. But I’m pretty firm in what I want .

Do not buy a veil unless you have chosen your "definitely wearing this" dress. Lengths and styles and colors of veils complement certain dresses. Look terrible with others. And your comment on dresses does not sound like you have one you know you will wear.

My engagement is going to be a month short of two years and the things I bought early like my wedding jewelry that I bought when I bought my dress I now no longer love so now I have about $100 worth of jewelry that I will never use and still have to get something different for the wedding so I would wait a little longer unless you are for sure set and know you wont change your mind

I bought stuff as soon as I knew I wanted it. However there are things I changed my mind about towards the end so I do wish maybe I had not gotten it yet

We are getting married in March 2020. We bought a lot ghis past winter on clearance. It was a great way to snag some deals and feel lile we had a head start. We knew what we wanted though and if we changed our minds about some items, we found alternative uses for them.

I’m planning on waiting to buy things in fear that I’m gonna regret it because I change my mind way too easily. If you are someone who sets your mind on things I would get it.

I’m getting married July 2020 and I have bought a ton of stuff already. I love getting things done early it makes me personally feel better but everything I’ve gotten I love and am happy with the decisions so I say if you know you will love the items up until your wedding then totally go for it! Makes the process that much easier in my opinion Smiley smile

There are pros & cons to buying this early. Pro is you spread your money out. Buying things over time will make it sticker shock much less when the really expensive stuff comes around. Con, you may change your mind on what you like, then you’re stuck with these items. So I wouldn’t purchase anything unless you are 100% sure it is what you want.

I would hold off. I've changed my mind on so many things since getting engaged so until you have a clear vision of how you want your wedding to be, then wait. It's SO hard because it's so exciting but it'll save you money in the long run

That’s fine to buy your wedding dress early just do the alterations 3 month before the wedding

My wedding is in April 2020 and I’ve already bought a ton of stuff. And am already starting my DIY things, because summer is the best time to do projects outside! And my thought on it is that once it’s done it’s one less thing off the list of things to do. I hate last minute things, so my advice is to get whatever you’re dead set on now!

I have changed my mind often. I think a majority of brides do. I’d hold off on the bouquet and veils. You can always shop around for deals on things that you 100% know you’ll use. We will have been engaged almost 2 years by the time we get married in October. I spent the first year going to Michael’s and shopping sales and using coupons to get things I knew we’d need. It was helpful because now that we are getting closer, I have everything I need to get started on DIY stuff.

I'd wait to buy your veil until you have your dress and if you're firm in what you want, I say go for it! You know yourself better than we do and if you think you could change your mind in that time, I say wait. Happy planning!

Having a long engagement definitely gives you the luxury of buying things ahead of time to keep you from paying so much at once. I would wait to buy things like your dress, his suit, bridesmaids dresses, things like that because people's weights fluctuate so much but as far as decor items and things like that.....go for it!

(I saw your comment about your dress lol)

Our wedding is not til May 2020 but I have shopped for shoes! I have a pair of cream/white stiletto and another wedge heels (in case I get tired!) both from Nordstrom! I don’t have a dress yet but I knew I wanted shoes I can use even after the wedding!

I’m also getting married in April and I’m holding off on the veil just because my dress shop recommends to wait until after the dress is back and altered. I have definitely went ahead and bought some stuff though. I’m just carful about what I buy because if it is something I can buy no hassle later on then I’ll wait or if it something I think I might for whatever reason change my mind about later on then I’ll wait but besides that if I have he took to store it I go ahead and buy it.

I’m getting married May 2020 and already start purchasing little things such as little signs and cuff links we are doing it slowly as we go and not all at once I don’t think it’s too early especially since things sell out but I’m different once I see something I like I don’t change my mind

My wedding is until May 2020 ms I’ve already purchased my dress and bouquet ( it’s a brooch bouquet) I have started looking at other decorations and things such as. Our venue has been selected and paid for and I’ve already solidified the menu. I don’t think it’s too early to purchase as long as you’re sure this is what you want.
As of yet I haven’t changed my mind on anything.
