Am i the only one?!

Jessica, on May 14, 2021 at 12:47 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 22

As the days countdown and the wedding gets closer (104 days to be exact!), I find myself getting lost in moments of envisioning what our wedding is going to be like. It's usually when I am driving. A song that comes on might trigger it, a random text of someone checking in on plans, etc.

Here's the thing, I have a grand ol' time imagining the -getting ready- fun, what pictures I want our photographer to capture, our cute lil flower girls & ring bearers.. Smiley love

But then, my mind gets to the part of my day dream where the doors open, I am about to walk down the aisle with my Dad, my FH is standing at the altar aaaaaand cue a major ugly cry sesh! Smiley laugh I mean, they're happy tears obviously but I am feeling ALL the feels.

I am worried y'all. I am BALLING in. my. car. on my way to work, 105 days away from the wedding. WHAT am I going to do when it's the REAL time to walk down the aisle?! lol oh man....luckily my MOH is amazing & she will just ugly cry with me.

Tell me I am not alone?!

Not alone at all, this is me too!! 😭😭😭 When I think about the actual ceremony and walking down the aisle, I instantly start to cry too! I hope I don't blubber the whole way down the aisle 😆 I think the emotions make it even more sentimental and memorable to me ♥️☺️

We just finalized our videographer (we’re two months out from our elopement day), and he immediately responded with a playlist of songs to select from to set the mood of the film. We quickly narrowed them down and found one particular song we both agreed on.

Now every single time I play that song, I get emotional!
I think it’s been so abstract because it’s a styled elopement so getting these little touches here and there helps... and that’s when the butterflies start!
I even made sure to contact the suit rental company for at-home try-on suits for the fiance! Definitely want to make her feel like everything is coming together in a more concrete manner while also giving her those excited pre-wedding jitters.
Can’t wait to see everything together!

I was very worried I WOULD cry.

But then everyone stood up and there was a bend in the aisle, so I couldn't see DH, and I *sped up*... my dad made a joke... our friend's baby made a delightful little crow/laughing sound (felt like a blessing, honestly), and I saw DH.

We both got a little froggy during the ceremony. And during our first dance. Nearly cried AGAIN with my father-daughter dance, but *I* made a joke, and so... no tears. Barely.

Like Rebecca, I sped up when I saw H at the end of the aisle - my brother had to slow me down. H cried when he saw me - those are among my favorite pictures lol.

I ended up crying (UGLY crying) when I danced with my brother - because it should have been my dad, but he died before the wedding, so it was impossible. My brother joked me out of it, but it was definitely a moment - and there are pictures of that too. My make-up artist made sure to use stuff that would *stay* through the tears, because we knew it was a possibility.

Ugh, you are NOT ALONE at all!!! My FH and I have very different tastes in music, so picking the music was sort of difficult for us. When we FINALLY settled on our first dance song (which we've changed like 4 times already!), I would cry when I heard it in the car, anticipating our first dance together and how it would feel. So DEFINITELY in the feels and still 182 days away!

So true & so glad I am not alone in this! Super odd for me because I am very calm & not known to be super emotionally. It definitely makes it memorable & will make for some great video/photo moments (I hope LOL)

Awww I love this! I have been my typically type A self. Planning & directing all the way up til' now & all the sudden what are these? EMOTIONS? haha My first dress fitting is tomorrow! I think that is a good call to have an at home try on! I was originally going to purchase my dress solely online because of COVID but that fell through so I was basically forced to go out into the "real world" & find a salon with dresses I could try on in person. After that moment, is truly when the emotions started. It made everything so much more REAL. Smiley heart

Yes! Jokes are an amazing distraction from crying OR at least a will be a cuter cry cuz it's with a smile LOL ( why do they not have a cry laughing emoji on here?!) I will, like you, probably cry during vows, luckily my cousin is our officiant so he will crack a joke & I'll be fine again. No promises about father/daughter dance.

SO sorry for your loss! I'm glad you had your brother to support you. I am the only child and as I get older, as my parents get older, I am terrified. My mom is having some health issues and I am hoping every day that she recovers Smiley heart

LOVE that you sped up. That is how you know you made the right decision right?! like, can I just wear skates and get that walk over with quick?! It's the anticipation that kills me, I think!

Okay, so I will ask my MUA for major STAY SPRAY. Hopefully that's a thing! Smiley laugh

Ugh lol...so we picked instrumentals to walk down the aisle to, and despite my FH not loving Disney, he was totally okay with an instrumental of Beauty and the Beast, so we went with that. Our first dance though...we went back and forth a million times. Originally we were going to do I Don't Dance by Lee Brice. Then we switched to Can't Help Falling in Love with You by Elvis. Then he decided he didn't like that and he wanted a rock song. Couldn't find a decent rock love song that he liked and I'm totally a country girl, so we picked Free by Zac Brown Band. Now I'm like well maybe I should switch it to A Thousand Years by Christina Perri because he loves that song and so do I, but everyone does it. But if I hear Free...I start bawling like a baby. So I think he just has to suck it up and we keep it at that!

I've been doing the same thing I'm 136 days away lol. I feel like my makeup and everything is going to be ruined from me crying so bad.

I'm like 480+ days away but I'm a super emotional person and I tear up thinking about specific moments. I have a 14 year old son (will be 15 at the time of the wedding) and I'm having both him and my dad walk me down the aisle and I will ****% ugly cry when we start walking, and I get weepy just thinking about it.

I cry just thinking about all the little details! I blubber at everything, movies, commercials, you name it. When I was MOH for my best friend I hid a lot of tissues in my flowers for her, she will do the same for me haha. I am such an ugly crier, I just pray I can get through my vows!! We are having a friend officiate, he is very funny, so I am hoping that will help mediate some of the tears lol. Smiley smile

OMG this is a huge fear of mine, too! I am going to be finished getting ready by 3:30pm but my Ceremony doesn't start until 5! I was telling my MUA there is no way I will last 90 minutes without ruining all of her hard work! Smiley xd
