Am i crazy for having a person online make my dress?

Not at all. I think if you love the designer go for it. I ordered my dress from the UK without ever trying it on. It just arrived last week and it looks perfect. I think as long as you have an alterations person set up and you feel confident in the look/designer you should be good to go.

I don't think it's crazy! I do think it's a good idea to go and try on dresses of that silhouette in a store first, just to be sure you love it, because sometimes when you try something on you realise it doesn't suit you at all, or you don't like the way it looks, but otherwise, I think if there are plenty of reviews and photos there's no reason to not buy online!

I’m doing the same thing. I think the good reviews definitely help. You have plenty of time, too, if it doesn’t work out.

It’s not crazy! You do you, and if it has a lot of reviews— that’s amazing! My gf got hers done at Cocomelody and had to do a lot more alterations than expected. Can I ask what online place you are using so I can tell my fellow friends?

If you were impressed by their work, and you have faith in them, then that's all that matters. The key thing is so long as the designer works with you and what you want. You said yourself that you're far enough out from your wedding date that if you need alterations of any kind, you can have them done. You'd do the same if you bought your dress in a store.

Not crazy at all! I've gone to several bridal shops in my area and haven't found anything I'm in love with. I've seen a few dresses on Etsy that are exactly what I'm looking for and the prices are better online too! I think I might just go this route and order one made to my measurements. My advice would be to at least try a few dresses in person just to see what silhouette and fabrics you like. I was really surprised when one of the dresses I'd been looking at online for months on David's Bridal did not look good on me at all when I tried it on!
