Alternative rock ideas

I don't really have ideas for how to incorporate it in the decor, but my husband and I incorporated it through the music we played. For instance, our recessional song was by a small alt rock band that we both discovered early on in our relationship called Coasta, our bridal party walked in to a Foster the People song, and our 1st dance was to Luna by Smashing Pumpkins (although it was almost Walking After You by the Foo Fighters).

I Love this idea! Music is one of the most important things for me and most of our music that we have in our ceremony and during the reception will be our favorite rock songs. Waste My Time by Saint Asonia will be our bridal walk!

We're considering walking back up the aisle to Ice Nine Kills version of 'Can't Help Falling in Love' and our first dance will be Shinedown's 'Follow You'.

We're going more geeky in our decor, but you could name your tables after favorite bands/songs. You could also be punny and have more metallic items or even rocks incorporated into your centerpieces.

The first thing that comes to mind for me is place cards - you could use a font that one of those bands use for those. As long as it's legible (like Slipknot), that could be fun! I also really like the idea of album covers or band names instead of table numbers.

The second thing that comes to mind for me is the music. Will you have background music playing during dinner? If so, instrumental covers of some rock or metal songs would probably sound great! A kind of strange but also really good reference for that could be the song covers you hear in Westworld. They've had awesome instrumental versions of songs like Black Hole Sun, Back to Black, Seven Nation Army, Heart-Shaped Box, Play With Fire, and so many more. You could also use this as prelude music before your ceremony.
