Alternate Names for bridemaids...

AmandaandAlex2016, on April 28, 2015 at 12:05 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12

My husband and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary by having a vow renewal ceremony/reception. We did not have a wedding when we got married so we decided to go all out to make it like an actual wedding (minus the wedding showers/gifts and stuff like that, we don't want it for that reason.) I am wanting to call my "bridemaids/maid of honor" something else because almost all of them are married and I am not really a "bride". Same for our "best man/groomsmen". Any suggestions? I want something cute/sweet and still special.

I like honor attendants. Honored attendants? If you want something a little more cheeky, I like partners in crime lol.

I personally like "Partners in Crime"

I've seen a few local vow renewals, where the WP was named after something the couple held dear. The one that most spring to mind was a guy who called his blokes his "stormtroopers" (met through a Star Wars fan club at their local uni) and the woman called her ladies her "planeswalkers" (they were all MTG fans)

Not a route for everyone but I definitely thought it was awesome.

Our BP are called our "Side Kicks" and we didn't give them traditional titles. For instance, I have a "Minion of Honor" (best friend with whom I have a history with the minion nickname), "Sister of Honor" (sister) and "Man of Honor" (friend who has been the closest to me for years). FW side she has what she is tentatively calling "Bestest Woman" (her best friend of years) and "The Littlest" which is the flower girl (her 3 year old niece).
