Altar Table Decorations

Emma, on December 23, 2019 at 11:50 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5

This is the thing I've picked to worry about right now lol. I don't really want to pay for more flowers to put up there and honestly I would love to just DIY something. There is a table at the front of the chapel so I think we're just going to put some decoration on that?

What are you doing for altar table décor? Any thoughts/suggestions/ideas are helpful!

Some cuts votives with tea light candles are always really pretty and you can get them super cheap at the dollar store or even thrift shops. I’ve also seen a lot of people put up family wedding photos of their parents/grandparents etc. Photos of you and your FH in pretty frames or hung up on clothes line in a bigger frame could also be cute!

What’s the aesthetic of your wedding? If you’re going for a vintage/antique feel that opens up a lot of room for using old candle sticks/vintage suitcases/old camera etc.

I would do faux greenery and some votive candles. Simple and pretty.

I think we're landing somewhere in the boho-rustic range, with a maybe a touch of vintage but probably not enough to do a vintage look for the altar. I didn't even think about candles. We aren't doing candles anywhere else, would that look out of place?

I don’t think it would look out of place as long as you stuck with your colors. Are you doing a a guest book/box for cards of wisdom & wishes? That’s something you could put on the table as well. Get a boho/rustic album for people to sign or pick up a rustic box and order some nice postcards off Etsy. You could do a cute little chalk board sign with the instructions (“write us a postcard to open on our anniversary!” Something like that.) That with a couple candles (real or fake) and maybe a couple vases with something simple like ferns or baby’s breath (which wouldn’t be too much extra expense) I think could be really pretty.

Two of the ladies at my church surprised me with these garlands! They made them out of greenery and baby's breath, kept together with floral tape. They say it was super simple and it was gorgeous! They used it to decorate the ceremony stage
