Just Said Yes July 2020

Already postponed once due to covid-19 what if my new date is affected too??

Hey guys,

So I was supposed to get married on April 25th. Obviously that’s not happening anymore. All of our vendors, family and friends have been amazingly supportive. We got a new date of July 12th, when we first picked this my fiancée made a stupid joke “What if this isn’t over by July?” I laughed it off and yelled (jokingly!) at him but now that things keep getting extended (stay at home order extended to May 1st) there’s actually a possibility it could happen. I….I don’t think I can go through this again the scrambling to plan everything all over again is terrifying. I keep staying well this will be a good story to tell the kids (we’ve already got a few things personalized with the original date before all this went down, guest book, unity sand ext.) but the stress of this on top of being an “essential” worker (which is more stress for many other reasons I don’t want to get into) is just crushing and I don’t know want to do, or think. I’m an optimistic person by nature but this, this is just ugh. Is anyone else feeling this too?

I totally feel your pain. We postponed our April 11th date 3 weeks before the date to July 11th saying “if this isn’t over by July we’re in some deep ****”. Well now we’ve cancelled and are just opting for a small ceremony/elopement. I can’t handle the stress of having to cancel again after being so close the first time 😢

What is your venue saying ?
From I notice all these state of emergencies and stay at home orders I thought to myself all weddings need to be pushed back to September and beyond ....and I wasn’t being negative , I was just looking at the bigger picture and thinking ahead of not having to go through the frustration of rescheduling again .....ALLLLL the BEST!

The venue pushed everything back to at least June. They haven't said anything about the possibility of having to postpone again but they're probably waiting like everyone else.

My original wedding was 4/25 and now changed to 7/11. Venue is ok to let us to December or even Jan 2021. But omg, really hate to keep pushing back and waiting.

I’m worried about this too. We postponed our 4/11 wedding to 6/8

I would give it another month before you make a decision. Depends on the area but you may be okay by July 12th.

You can always come up with another backup plan just in case.

In a similar boat, scheduled for June 20th. Back up date of July 25th (175 approx wedding), feeling so stressed but SO beyond hopefully late June & July will be ok for gatherings. Thinking of all the brides during this time 🤍

Hopefully wouldn’t have to choose another back up date last July but many venues have been working with people, thankfully!

I feel the same way. We postponed our May 30th wedding to July 18th and I was feeling a huge sense of relief after we postponed, but now I am not convinced at all that it will be able to happen in July either. I can't even imagine having to postpone again but i'm thinking i'm going to have to come to terms with the thought of it. It's still 3 months away though so i'm trying to hold out hope that a lot can change by then.

    Hi Veronica,

This is definitely a crazy stressful and uncertain time for everyone! It seems like a lot of July brides are waiting a few more weeks before making postponement decisions, but everyone's situation is different and it never hurts to be proactive about plan b!

You also aren't alone right now! ❤️ There are a ton of July brides also talking about their Covid19 concerns in this discussion:

June and July Brides do not stress Covid-19!!!

And here's another discussion specifically about July 2020 Weddings! OsQM71bUJ0Qu4ly8UKJOrw-4MNRCjpvLo-YljRdj

I'm so sorry you had to change your plans, but I'm so glad you've locked down a new date!! BOpClAR83wqJF1bFtFERgypV_BICZsbBvwcIMhTa

Stay positive and hang in there!! You've bought yourself a lot more time and hopefully more peace of mind!
