Hello all! My husband and I are hoping to go on a vacation in December to celebrate our one year anniversary! We went to excellence Playa mujeres for our honeymoon, and we’re hoping for a similar vibe for our 1 year anniversary! We’re hoping to stay at a resort for about a week overlapping December 13th some way.

We’ll be flying out of Ohare and are hoping to spend less than $5k total including airfare! Any suggestions?! Thank you!!

Riviera Maya has amazing resorts. We stayed at Unico last summer and it was 5 stars. Day trips to tulum and Yucatán peninsula are worth it as well.

Excellence also has resorts in the Dominican Republic and Jamaica if you want something different from Mexico. We stayed at Excellence El Carmen in DR for our honeymoon and loved it.

Look into Sandals resorts in the Caribbean, they're all inclusive.

I haven't been, but my parents have been to Beloved (their boutique hotel next door to EPM) and to ERC. We went to El Carmen in July of last year and there was a lot of seaweed. I think this is an issue all over the Carribean. The food, service, and rooms were amazing. We mostly hung by the pool because of the seaweed.

Dominican republic has hundreds of all-inclusive resorts with airports straight into the resort cities, they are very affordable and beautiful!
