Honestly it's really not that bad unless you're looking for trouble. I went in April and we stayed in Cabo at the Riu Palace. It was amazing!

I know you said Sandals is too expensive but we went to Sandals Grenada since it was the least expensive resort and it is mostly out of the way of hurricanes since it is the last/southern most island on the Caribbean chain. It doesn't mean it won't be affected it is just less likely.

I went to Mexico for my bachelorette and we stayed at the breathless riviera Cancún and it was amazing. Not sure the price because my BM handled everything with the travel agent. It’s an all inclusive that’s secluded away from the hotel zone in Riviera Maya and they have a separate side of the resort for honeymooners and anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation where the party goers are not allowed, maybe someplace good to look at if you’re interested

You can make payments with Sandals, that's what we're doing and we're almost done paying it off.

Check out Aruba! They are out of the hurricane belt and have the least rainy days of any island in the Caribbean. There are a few all inclusive's however, most people advise NOT doing AI in Aruba because there are so many good places to eat! It is a small island and very safe to walk around and explore.
