At our venue we bring our own alcohol to be served but it has to be served by a bartender. No problem at all we are inviting around 300 people and will have two bartenders. We won’t be charging for any of the alcohol but of course once it’s gone it’s gone. I can’t decide how I want to do the alcohol. I’m between two options, what do you guys think. Option 1: 2 different frozen drinks, 4 different kinds of beer, 4 signature drinks. Option 2: 2 different frozen drinks, 4 different kinds of beer, list the hard liquor vodka, rum, whiskey, tequila, and then list the mixers, sodas, juices, etc.
My thought was go with option 1 so ordering will be a little quicker but fiancé thinks option 2 would be easier. If we did the signature drinks we would pick each one with a different kind of hard alcohol. I’m not a big drinker so don’t feel like the best person to make the decision haha

For a more formal event, you would have a separate bar with bartender for non alcoholic beverages rather than everything at one bar (or two if you decide to put another across the room to lessen the lines) where alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages are served together ?

Weddings we have attended in the past, together and individually, unless there was a punch bowl or coffee carafes on display, no one knew that beverages beyond basic water were available. But that is due to bad planning on their part.

Typically yes, unless it's a smaller event (<50 people) without kids. If kids are present, I personally think there should be a non-alcoholic station set up somewhere that's easily visible. If it's a formal event, but smaller and without kids, just the one bar should be fine. The non-alcoholic bar doesn't have to specifically have a bartender, though. Just a server is fine since they wouldn't be dealing with alcohol.

Your past experiences are very different from what I've experienced, both as a worker and a guest. I'm not sure where you're located, so maybe it's just a regional thing? I'm in CA. Weddings here usually have a non-alcoholic station separate from the bar and people are absolutely NOT shy about coming up to the bar if a non-alcoholic station isn't obviously available. The number of times I've had a 9-year-old ask me for a soda while I'm mixing a margarita is higher than I'd like it to be. At least they were polite about it!
