Aisle runner on grass?

SphynxLover, on March 24, 2014 at 4:00 PM Posted in Planning 0 13

I was thinking about getting an aisle runner for the ceremony. It's going to be on a grassy area and I am wondering if it's more trouble than it's worth? I would hate for it so start flapping in the wind and be a tripping hazard. Has anyone had experience with this?

I would skip it - for the most part, aisle runners are overkill and people tend to trip on them.

Don't do it! They aren't meant for grass.

It's more trouble than it's worth. I was a florist, and probably about.... maybe a little less than half of the brides I saw ordered an aisle runner. Lots of churches don't even allow them anymore.

Yeah, I wouldnt do it. I'd worry about it flying away, getting caught on something, tripping someone it anything accidentally happens to it before you make it down the aisle.

we are doing an outside wedding and just using leaves along the edge of the chairs. Petals and other things like that may work better for you! Smiley winking

Guess it depends on the kind of aisle runner. It sounds like most people are picturing one of the paper aisle runners (rightfully so, they're common, and I agree, they'd be trouble on grass). We're doing one on a grassy area but it's made of a thick burlap and cotton lace. So, it's sturdier than the paper ones.

My wedding is in a grass-like area and I made this aisle runner. It will only be on the sides of the aisle along the chairs. This way I won't have to worry about tripping but still get that "aisle runner" feel Smiley smile

I was going to suggest just do flower petals.

Skip it. Petals are cute, but petals cost.

I'm going to collect flat rocks over the summer and line the isle with cute rocks and flowers

We are doing the petals in grass, but just along the outside of the walkway. The price was cheap, but I live in Texas and things are usually cheaper. FH and I are going to sprinkle them ourselves.
