Aisle Decor & My fh is a Genuis!

Courtney, on June 29, 2019 at 1:31 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 16
So I've been sitting over here agonizing over what to do for aisle decor. I love our venue and I know it will be beautifully decorated for the holidays so that's not the issue. But whenever I thought of the ceremony all I could think of was how bare the aisle must look compared to the rest of the hall.

I didn't want to spend much more money on decor that we'll have to store and figure out what to do with after the wedding. But every thing I came up with wasn't hitting the mark. Lanterns? Kinda by no. Kissing balls? No. Florals? No.

And that's when my FH suggested double purposing our centerpieces as aisle decor! Granted we only have 10 instead of 18 for the number of aisles but we can do every other aisle. So we're going to use the birch rounds, berry garlands, and the candles from our centerpieces to use on the aisles. Plus the venue staff will already have them ready to go when they flip the hall for the reception. So win-win!

Just no one tell my FH how smart he is, okay? Smiley xd

Thank you. 😁 My parents are going to pick up some poinsettias for the fireplace the morning of the wedding when they get the flowers.

I had the same idea too! However, when I asked our venue about this, they said they are only responsible for table setting, but not the decorations. So if I wanted to this, I need to have somebody take the decorations from the ceremony, and then set up the centerpieces during cocktail hour. I really don't want anybody to work during the wedding so... it may not be possible for me. But, I hope it works out for you!

Hopefully- our venue is all inclusive so they’re already handling the decor elsewhere. But if they can’t or they don’t have time, I’m sure the groomsmen wouldn’t minding pitching in for a few minutes.

Thank you sooooo much for sharing this! Ive been trying to figure out what to do for our aisles as well. I made these centerpieces and actually bought way too many jars so I might end up putting them at the end of the aisle, and maybe some tulle draped from chair to chair.

That's what we did. We draped garlands down the pews for the ceremony and then used them for our centerpieces. Best way to save money and decorate both places.

Thanks, but now he's started to go against his own idea. "Well they're gonna be on the floor and then on the tables and they'll be dirty." No! Stick with that idea, it was a good idea! Hahaha. It's not like we're getting married in a barn, it's a clean floor indoors for Pete's sake.
