Airline changed our seats

I have been on a flight where we were separated...once we boarded, we noticed the person sitting next to my FH was alone and we asked if she would switch me. She had zero issues with it. I think a majority of people would switch in this situation. Doesn’t hurt to ask!

That's tough! I personally wouldn't ask anyone the day of to trade seats, but definitely call the airline as planned. Good luck!

If you paid extra to choose your seats, you should certainly contact the airlines and have them adjust your seating assignments to where you are both together again.

They can move seats around, and im sure that there are unassigned seats even if you can't see them on your end. Call the airline and at the very least they should give you credits of some sort for the extra amount that you paid to pick seats together. Just explain to them that you are on your honeymoon (assuming thats why your posting this on WW), and im sure they will do what they can to accommodate you. If the phone call doesn't work, nicely ask the gate agent at the airport and explain that its your honeymoon.

Oh that's just not right! I hope you get this sorted out. I would lose my mind over this not only is it my honeymoon, but I'm a SUPER anxious flyer..pretty sure my neighbor doesnt want me squeezing their wrist until their fingers turn blue during takeoff or landing! Let us know how it works out!

If you paid an extra fee to pick your seats, they either have to change the seats back, or refund the extra fee. And assign you anywhere. Or if you charged them to a card which guarantees things, you can ask them to help. They can call the airline, and say, you charged a fee and then failed to provide what was paid for. Change it, or the credit card will void the entire flight payment, and you will go another airline. When there is no separate fee, they have the right to move you. Not when they get you to pay more to choose . Do this ASAP.

I'd call them see if they can switch you due to being a couple and if they cannot then the person near you maybe would be nice to switch

View Quoted Comment They fixed it! They moved us a little bit forwards and spilt two people who had single tickets up. The person I talked with had me talk to a supervisor and apologized profusely. The supervisor said it must have been an oversight on someone’s part because there was no other change to the flight other than the seats. Thank goodness!! I’m so glad I noticed that they did this.
