Airbnb Venue!

Okay y'all. I found this airbnb and I'm IN LOVE! It's only $200/night so I've found our wedding reception site for less than $500!! I've already talked to the host and she is allowing us to have it here. 😍♥️ Thoughts? Opinions? Am I crazy? Lol.

OMG THATS SOOO STRESSFUL! I'm sorry! I feel like shes being a little greedy. Like you said, who would be a long term tenant at a $500/night property? Ehhh... that's kinda ridiculous. I'm sorry!

It has 2 bathrooms. Should I get more? I didn't even think about that! lol. I'll definitely check on noise ordinances. Thanks! Smiley winking

For 30 people, I would think two bathrooms is fine (especially if the house is not on a septic system). Some cities/towns don't allow outside music past certain hours, or HOAs don't allow it outside. I'd also consider getting wedding insurance from drunk driving, or any damage to the property! Wedsafe is a great option.

We contacted the town hall where we are getting married. The ordinance stated something about no private residence can be registered as a venue, blah blah blah. I get it - we are having 125 people and it honestly would not have been conducive to our size party.

Your guest list amount sounds fantastic for this type of venue!

We had thought about doing this as well! There was an amazing place I had all picked out. But then he decided he didn't want to share the house with 20 people and have to decide who got to stay in the house lol. The only way we could of afforded the one we picked was to share so there went that dream lol. I am pretty sure my cousin assumed we would foot the bill for anyone that would have stayed there because she was all in for coming to the wedding until I let her know that we were doing a hotel instead. Suddenly she said she can't afford to come.

I think airbnb for a wedding venue is a great idea and actually, here is an example of a wedding that did just that - couple rented airbnb for their venue that they used for ceremony and reception...

i love it because there’s no time limit we are getting it a few days before too for ample time to set up and our close family gets to sleep there and won’t have to pay for a hotel!
