My ex husband was in the USAF. I would say small jets here and there except that my ex was in Security Forces. I can't see a wedding with guns and wings and jets. lol So, my first question would be... what does he do? You could do silver stars, gold wings...You could do an old vintage theme with big band music. Does that help at all?

He is Communication so its really hard to add that into the wedding. I plan on having my dad walk me down the aisle with a gun hahaha I know kinda weird. I was thinking of doing yellow roses as the center pieces with little flags and blue and silver ribbon around the vases. I have found a few little things such as an Air Force cake topper and oddly enough Rubber duckies in blues. We know for sure that we are going to do those two things but it is really hard to plan a wedding while he is deployed.

    Congrats. Welcome to WW.

I will be back with more ideas... but until then... read this. Maybe you can change it up a little to match your situation.

    Good Luck

Just be careful doing something Air Force theme. They often come off as cheesy and the guys gets crap from their squads for it. You can do a few AF touches though.

If you want to go all out, you can buy multi packs of small AF planes and use them around your centerpieces like you would sprinkle flower petals.

You can use an actual replica of a plane for a cake topper instead of the cheesy stuff that says AF. They make some great models, and you can put a little bride and serviceman next to it.

I'm sure you can google Aif Force weddings and get a million ideas.

I am an Air Force brat so I am going to have a bunch of service members there and I thought that it might come off cheesy but I talked to them and because this day isnt just about us renewing our vows because we got married 3 days before he left it is also to show him my appreciation for him and all the sacrifices that he has made for us to be a family and have a wonderful life. So I thought about all that and we/I have found a few cool things such as Air Force rubber Ducks that as soon as I showed him he told me I had to buy them.

Those ducks are super cute! I was born an AF brat (Elmendorf AFB).. my kids are all AF brats (Kirtland AFB and Incirlik Air Base). The 7 years I've lived in Oregon are the longest I've lived in any one place. Though I suffer from wanderlust, I am glad to have finally put down roots. Welcome to WW and keep us updated on your ideas!

Roses on all the tables will be pretty, but it gets expensive to do floral centerpieces. Not sure how many guests you will have or how many tables, but add it up, and see if it is worth it to spend hundreds on something that will be appreciated for 4 hrs and then die and go in the garbage. (sorry, but my motto is "Do I really want this - or - would I rather go on a 7 day cruise)

Here are some more ideas with your colors. Come on any time. We are like a little family here, and worry when we don't hear from some of our regulars. And celebrate when someone announces they are pregnant. Bring your ideas and come brainstorm with us.

    Happy Planning!
