After wedding blues

Miriam, on December 14, 2019 at 12:26 PM Posted in Married Life 0 6
It’s been a month since the wedding and I have been so depressed. I read that this could happen. I feel so lost and keep focusing on the few things during the wedding that went wrong (like I can change it!) instead of how wonderful it was. Anyone else experience this? What did you do to get through it?

I was sad when the planning part was over because I enjoyed it so much. Our wedding was so perfect that I think about it pretty much every day and wish we could do it all over again. Whenever I really miss the wedding, I look back at our photos or watch our videos and it makes me so happy. Being married is fun, so I’m enjoying this part of life now.

Yes, I definitely had this experience. There are still times I think about everything that went from, but then I remember I married my prince charming. Although it sucks that things went wrong, try to focus on the things that went right.

The bright side... You’re married to your husband now, which was the important point of it all, right? So instead of looking backwards, think about your future and the new memories you’ll create together (because I’m certain that you agree... the lifelong marriage is more important than the single-day wedding). Life has bumps and so will weddings. It’s easier when you view it that way because nothing’s perfect... not even marriage.

Wedding blues is common. Even to this day I think about things I wish I had done but I think instead, it's nice to find a new project to focus on

We were totally relieved. It took us a few months the but going on dates was heavenly.

Later I worked part-time in a bridal shop. Loved helping other brides find their dream dress. Is that an option?

I was a little down because I felt very empty. I had nothing to do so I started looking at new hobbies. Is very normal to feel down but as much as I miss the planning I love having the freedom itself to indulge on other activities and to simply sit down and cuddle while watching a show marathon. It would pass and it would slowly get better.
