AFFORDABLE HAIR AND MAKEUP?? please! (northern VA)

I also have been looking for an affordable make up artist in the Northern VA area and have been having a lot of trouble. The cheapest make up artist I found would charge $150 for myself and $45 for each bridesmaid. And this is pretty cheap being that everyone I've seen average $250 for bride and $75 each bridesmaid which I think is way too expensive.

I was fortunate to have a make up artist in my wedding so I only have to look for a hair stylist in the area. I just moved out here so it will be a task.

The thing about the wedding industry is that the minute we say "wedding", there is a 100% markup. If you are getting married later in the evening, you can get your hair done at your favorite/regular hair salon. Then for the make up go to a MAC counter or something. You only have to buy 60 bucks worth make up in order for them do your whole face. I even think you can make an appointment for that. Its probably 60 bucks of make up you are gonna need anyway. Just a suggestion if you find yourself in a rut.

Are any of your Bridesmaids or MOH's good with make up? Something you can consider is just having their hair done and have the girls do their make up themselves, or have someone who's talented with makup in your bridal party do the other girls make up while the others are in the chair having their hair done. We did that for my sister's Wedding last summer and it saved us all money for having our make up done. Her MOH and one other BM who had to do their makeup all the time for Cheerleading did our make up and it looked excellent. My sister was the only one who had her makeup done professionally.
