Affordable Day-of Coordinator (los Angeles)

Leah, on April 6, 2021 at 6:54 PM Posted in California Planning 0 8

My fiancé and I are planning our wedding for February 2022. We got our dream venue, but that's made the rest of the budget a bit tight. Our venue requires us to have a day-of coordinator to attend the walk-through, rehearsal, and entire event. Our budget was originally $800 (based off of the national average of $600 +cost to have an event in LA). That seems impossible now. I've reached out to at least 20 people at this point and haven't been able to find anyone for less than $1400! I've tried my venue's recommendations. I've tried those listed as "Inexpensive" and "Affordable". I disagree. Any recommendations or advice? Honestly, I'm at a loss. Thanks in advance!

I would check Thumbtack, but make sure you read reviews of those vendors.

    A past thread with suggestions.

Check Thumbtack.com and do a search for "LosAngelesWeddingPlanner" on Instagram and see what they can do in your budget

Fellow LA bride here! I don't think you'll find a day-of coordinator for that cheap in LA. Think about it - this is these people's full-time job, they can only work a few weddings a week (max three), so with how expensive it is to live in LA, $800 isn't a feasible amount for them to charge, especially since they have to pay taxes + other business expenses on that. Our day-of coordinator cost like $1600 I believe, and she was definitely on the cheaper side. Best of luck with your wedding, I hope it works out!

Not super helpful... I've actually found loads for under that so I don't think that's really the low end. (Any other LA brides ready this you CAN find experienced and lovely coordinators for under $1500- don't worry!) But thank you for your input and taking the time to write out your message.

Thank you! I had never heard of Thumbtack and I've found a couple of good candidates from there.

Like I said, that's only my experience. Most I've seen range from $1600-$2400 in LA County/Orange County, because everything is more expensive here, and I did a lot of research trying to find a good deal. Happy for you if you're able to find someone for less!
