Advice to soften things up

Anonymous, on February 20, 2012 at 5:35 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3

What is the best way to soften the crinoline on my dress, it is rock hard and I have steamed it in my bathroom as advised already, but it is still pretty stiff and you can see many creases and crinkles under the dress. Should I borrow a humidifier or will that be to much, or bring it to a cleaner to be steamed, or is there a spray??? I need to fix the few flaws to make it my I love this dress, dress

    Can you post a picture?

I thought crinolines were supposed to be stiff to keep the dress puffed up?

Ok it sounds like they missed a layer in there. The stiff crinoline is just that, stiff. Maybe you can have a layer of a smoother material, like a tulle, added so the bumpy crinoline isn't under the soft silky fabric. Did that make sense?

Yes that makes sense to me! I will check into having a layer added because I am clueless she told me to stea it to soften it up and smooth the bumps.
