Advice on napkins.

Which do you prefer Satin or Polyester? How would you feel as a guest using a satin napkin at dinner time? My table cloths, chair covers and runners are polyester, but my sashes are satin. If you were to go with satin, would you have a back up napkin? If that makes since. Thanks for your advice/experience.

Polyester for me, I personally hate the feel of satin.

Are you buying them?

I can't imagine the satin ones would be easy to clean due to grease (plus I don't feel like I could clean my hands on them). And then reselling grease stained napkins would be next to impossible.

I would stick with the polyester.

No contest. Polyester, 100% of the time. Satin napkin is almost an oxymoron. Satin is decorative -- polyester is sturdy. Throw them in the washing machine, and they're good as new.

I was actually at a wedding that had satin napkins...and soul food, which was greasy. The napkins kept slipping off of everyone's lap, and more than one guest was griping about the cost of dry cleaning whatever they were wearing. They are pretty, but they are beyond impractical.
