Advice on How to Stay Warm for Early Spring Wedding

Alina, on April 20, 2017 at 2:04 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 24

Hi everyone!

My fiancee and I have planned an April wedding in Estes Park, Colorado next year.

That being said, the weather could be between 36-75 degrees based on current weather patterns and could possibly be raining or even snowing!

Does anyone have any advice on where to find the best covers/wraps and any other advice on how to stay warm? Ceremony is outside. I run cold so I may even consider leg warmers or something warm underneath my dress.

If the weather is that unpredictable you should move the ceremony inside.

    Simple.

I did this! I saw it on Etsy, but did it my self to save money. I found blanket scarves on Amazon for $3.99. They went in and out of stock, so I just had to keep an eye and order in batches till I had enough. Then I printed a little 4 inch wide strip of paper and wrapped a it and it says "to have and to hold incase you get cold". I'll post an example

I would make sure you have a backup indoor location. Your guests' comfort comes first.

You have to have a backup location that's inside.

And I say keep the ceremony outside if that is what you want. Colorado people are tough! And you can have blankets or wraps if people are chilly.

We are, hopefully, having an outdoor ceremony in november in the Denver area! Same possibilities for weather as you, and we are only having the ceremony outside if it's nice. (It was 70 degrees on November 11th 2016). If it's not nice, we move the ceremony inside in front of huge windows that look out onto the red rocks.

Basically just have a backup plan.

Personally, I think you should have it indoors and/or plan to possibly hold it indoors depending on the weather.

Simple. Have it indoors. I'd be pissed if I got dressed up and put money in a card just to have to sit outside in 37 degree weather.

Since the weather in your area is unpredictable, there's a high likelihood you will have to move it indoors. So make sure you have a backup plan.

If it's 60-plus, you could bring blankets and heat lamps. Usually for heat lamps, you need one for every group of 3 or 4.

Indoors. I would sure as hell not sit outside in 36 degree weather for an hour. Have a backup plan. It's okay to hope for good weather, but make sure you have an indoor option if the weather is not ideal.

36 would be like the average low so really it should be around 50-70 in the afternoon at least but you just never know in Colorado.

But we definitely have a backup indoor place already (the reception location).

I was more looking for attire/accessory ideas from winter brides...so we have a backup to our backup.

Why do people invite guests to their wedding if they aren't going to accommodate them? Real question, because the answer I have in my head can't be right.

You go inside. Seriously. Under 60 degrees and you're inside.

You shouldn't have the ceremony outside if it could be that cold out.

Have a backup plan. If it's less than 60 degrees it should be moved inside or your guests will be uncomfortable.
