The main thing I would’ve changed was how I handled my dress. It was beautiful and fit me great from the start so I wasn’t concerned with alterations. I should’ve been ha ha I chose a family friend to help and should’ve used a professional. She did what I asked but in hindsight I could’ve used some guidance and would’ve had it done way earlier so there was more time to fix the last minute problems we ran in to. The top was too big and we didn’t take it in properly. I ended up having to wear a strapless bra that crept up all night and showed through the side cutouts
I also didn’t realize how important it is to show someone how to bustle it PRIOR to the wedding. I went the whole night without realizing it was bustled completely wrong (like the whole bottom layer showing ha ha). I might have done the photographer different as well. We only hired her for 2 hours to include the ceremony, cocktail hour and our introduction into the reception. I didn’t want a whole bunch of posed small group shots (there were only 27 people) after the ceremony so I told her to focus more on candids of everyone during cocktail hour. I’m sure she got some good ones but most of the time people were organizing their own posed group shots anyway and taking their own pictures. Might have been more effective to just let her organize some group shots. All that being said, it was by far more than we could’ve ever imagined! It was such a great day and I realize I am very lucky to say these were the only things that I would’ve changed
