Me & my FH have decided to make our reception "adult only". We just sent out our "save the dates" & Ive already had a couple people tell me how they have to find their baby a cute dress. I just dont want to make it unfair to those that attend & leave their kiddos at home, but then see other babies there.

IMO nursing babies should always be welcome, if not ( which is within your right) don't be offended if mom doesn't come. Don't put "adults only" anywhere. Deal with issues as they arise. Tell people no children. Period. But I would reconsider for nursing babies

I had the same problem and, based on your double exclaimation, the same reaction. I had to let them know that the only kids we were having were going to be the FG/RB. My parents told me to put the blame on them since they are paying for our reception. I have been telling them that if we let one person bring their kids we'd have to let everyone and my parents can't afford it.

We are having an adults only wedding as well. We are putting in small letters on the response card "the bride and groom respectfully request there be no children under the age of 10 years old" My cousin mentioned to me in passing "she hopes her 3 year old daughter will be quiet during the ceremony" I wanted to tell her right then and there but my blood was boiling and I didn't want to be rude so I figured I'd be better off just putting it on the response card. I just wanted to say to her if you think your child is NOT going to stay quiet during the ceremony why would you even consider bringing them??

No kids allowed at our wedding at all. Well, it's in Vegas so our guests are happy to not bring the little ones. We've been clear from the beginning on it. No exceptions.

Be insistent no matter what...my cousin knew it was adult only, she rsvp'd yes with her 2 kid/baby and when i called her and said there must be a misunderstanding she flipped out on me and right befroe she hung up on me screamed that i was " a f*ing douchebag and if her kids arent welcome she was nto going to come and that I dare not expect a wedding gift" ...whatever her choice to get pissy about..shit happens.

We have had someone who has already RSVP'd for their unborn baby. I totally get that newborn's are not exactly easy to leave at home for an evening but really do not want to have infants at our wedding. Regardless, I have decided not to take issue with this as it would be more stressful for me to deal with it than just let it happen.

How do you do it if you have out-of-town guests with babies? FH's aunt and uncle that he's fairly close with just had a baby a few months ago, but they're not going to come from Virginia without her. Likewise, one of my best friends will have a 10-month-old and she's not going to drive five hours without him. I don't really mind older kids that much (FH's sisters are tweens, and they're fine) but I don't particularly want screaming babies...

Or if we do have a cry room or nursery (our church has a big one, and thankfully I have some awesome church friends that I think would be willing to sit for them...my mom is big enough on it that she'll pick up the cost) how do you let people know that? Just contact them individually once they RSVP? I have no idea.

We did adult only. the easiest way we did it was to talk to each couple- we had about 10 with kids. we emailed them personally or called them to tell them we had to limit the guest list because our place didnt have kids prices and would charge us for them and we wanted all the parents to party and relax (and boy did they!)not babysit. All came to the wedding- two couples had someone there to watch their kids on site. It was up to them to find someone. We put Adults Only Reception on both the wedding website and invites. Dont make an exception unless you want it.
