Adding Nerdy Touches to the Wedding

I was wondering if anyone was adding nerdy touches to their wedding without doing a full on nerdy theme. FH and I are pretty big nerds. We go to conventions and play Magic the Gathering and all kinds of nerdy stuff. However, I don't want to have an overtly nerdy wedding. I think it would be nice to...

I think it would be nice to add some small nerdy touches though. My question is how do you do that without them looking random or weird in an otherwise traditional wedding?

EDIT: I should have stated incorporating anything into my ceremony is not an option as I'm being married in a Catholic church.

    I'm getting married in a Catholic church too. I'm having a gothic wedding with a lot of skull decorations. Obviously I won't be having any of those decorations for the church, it's more for the reception.

    But for my nerdy touch, FH & I are huge Doctor Who fans. So I think I'm going to have TARDIS decals under my heels.

    Table numbers are a great way. DH and I both studied abroad in Spain and he's a Spanish teacher. Our table numbers were Spanish cities and our table numbers were written out in Spanish. We used the IKEA double-sided frames and put a picture of the city on one side and the soccer jersey emblem on the other because DH is obsessed with soccer.

    @tayler that's basically the same situation I'm in. We're having a glitter themed wedding, but I want some of our joint personality in there too.

    I have definitely been on offbeat bride lol! I've gotten quite a few ideas from there. If it was up to FH that would be the #1 guide to our wedding planning.

    My best friend also had an unthemed black and green wedding with a plants vs zombies cake, so i'd suggest maybe even a grooms cake to add a little nerdiness. i was going to go that route, but we arent huge fans of fondant and cool cakes usually equal fondant city. fh requested homemade pineapple upside down cake instead. :]

    yeah, the extreme ones are just too much, as nerdy as we may be. i still want that beautiful wedding that i have in my mind. its just a little too costumey, there's no way we'd be up there dressed as han and leia. lol

    I'm thinking of doing a pineapple shaped grooms cake as a surprise for FH because he is a huge Psych fan and there is always a hidden pineapple. Our baker doesn't use fondant fortunately, I can't stand the taste!

    @tayler sure!

    This is the tutorial we used. I then just dropped them at the florist and she added the flowers for us! They were super cute!

    Oh, and that white flower is called stephanotis. We used it because it looked like a star.
