Adding a Plus One

Rachel, on August 8, 2018 at 9:02 AM Posted in Account Support 1 21

What is the proper way to add a plus one for a guest since it asks for a first and last name when adding a new person?

Once you add someone, click on their name. You should see an option that says "Add related guests or a plus one". That should link the two.

Hi Rachel! When you link related guests or add a plus one like Future Mrs. H has described above - then even if you enter "Plus One" as the guest's name, when the main guest searches for their own name to RSVP they will see the attached plus one option since they are linked! You could also add the plus one as Jane Doe and "Guest Doe" - either works!

Thank you both! One more question. Can you sort the guest list by last name instead of first name?

Hi Rachel! Right now there's no sort order for alphabetized by last name - you can just sort by group, attendance, meal choice, assigned tables, and lists:

I have no option to link guests. I looked everywhere for the add button for that option.

Hi Valerie! Are you on our app right now? You'll need to log-in to WeddingWire through a desktop web browser and then you'll see the option to add related guests or plus ones when you are editing an individual guest's information:

We have been trying the add related guest or plus one, but every time we click on the add related guest and put the name in, it puts the related guest as their own separate row and does not autofill the address information in or link the two. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks!

We have been trying to add "Plus One" as the first name. It won't let us use this for multiple guests, however. I think it considers "Plus One" to be one person, so when we add it to a new guest, it gets unlinked from the first guest and linked to the second guest instead.

This is my current problem, I am able to link a plus one to the necessary guests, however, I am unable to add them to the actual guest count as an "invite" to the wedding portion. How do I fix this? Below shows a dot where there should be a "Pending" icon. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Carolina,

What I ended up doing was reaching out to my guest list and asking them if they had a serious significant other that they would be interested in bringing to the wedding. That way you don't over handout Plus One's or you get the name of the person's Plus One and you can enter that into your guest list. Made my life so much easier!

OK I figured it out. I used Guest as mine. When you go to add click the add again. Not the Guest you already created.

Are guests able to update their guest's name when they are RSVPing?

Ugh this is such a hassle. I wish I could just import "Guest" into the upload template. We should also be able to add the Group Name into the upload template since it's on my exported test list.

Is there a way to require guests to add/update the name of their plus one? on the rsvp page I asked that they put the name in the comment section but some aren't doing it

Is there a way to allow guests to add their own Plus Ones? For example, a management setting to allow all guests to add a partner and child(ren). The best example I can give is Postable.com, which allows everyone who provides their address to add partners and children, so they can be included on cards.

The reason I ask is because it is a MAJOR hassle to have to manage the guest list myself by adding related guests, especially because I'm already doing everything else. Plus, I now have to ask all of my guests to fill out multiple forms, reach out to ask for the names of partners/children, then group them. At this rate, it would be easier for me to input everyone myself, which would take hours, but it's the only way for me to know for sure who's together/related. I thought the point was to make things easier. This is super stressful. 🙁

Hi Marissa! There is not a way to allow guests to add their own Plus Ones at this time. This ensures that you have full control over your guest list and that your guests can't decide to add additional guests on their own!

I'll make sure to pass along your request as feedback for the future!!
