Add more to the guest list?

As we are getting some “decline”s from our rsvps I’m wondering if I should add people onto the guest list. We had to cut the guest list because of our budget but we now have 10 no’s from out of town guest, I expected them to decline. I was thinking of add a few people back onto our guest list now....

We had to cut the guest list because of our budget but we now have 10 no’s from out of town guest, I expected them to decline. I was thinking of add a few people back onto our guest list now. Our rsvp is august 31st so as long as I get everything sent out by Monday I should be good time wish right? They would be in town guest btw!

    I don't think it is rude especially these days. I was invited to a wedding once, and it was obvious I was a B list invite and I didn't mind at all because I know that weddings are so expensive and I was just happy I could celebrate with my friend. If resources were endless my friend would have been able to invite me earlier, but that is not the way of the world. Especially at this time I think people should be understanding. And with only a week or so difference in when you are sending out the invites I think it is fine.

    This. People do find out and get upset. They know they are 2nd or 3rd choices because the invites arrive later than they should.

    I am planning on doing this. I think people understand due to COVID that sending them out late is okay.

    I went to a wedding that did this and didn't mind it, but I was on the A list. People found out they were on the B list and it was talked about at the wedding and it was hurtful tbh. We have one family member who is adopted and they were put on the B list because of that, so that's probably why it rubbed me the wrong way, but still...Im torn
