Im doing gel nails on acrylic as usual. Its the most professional finished look, very long lasting (4-6 weeks), and minimal damage to your own nail (but obviously results vary by person).

I did gel, but lately and for my brothers wedding, I've been doing Essie extended wear. It's lasted about 2 weeks like gel but it isn't gel, so even better for your nails.

Gel for sure! Acrylic is very damaging. I would recommend going to someone who does Kodi gel polish, I started using kodi for my nails recently and omg the difference I am actually able to grow my nails and they dont break and are strong and healthy after soak off. Got them done yesterday and it typically lasts me 3 weeks without peeling or chipping

When everybody is saying gel do you mean gel polish or a set of gel nails? I've been doing gel polish lately which is awesome but I'm super hard on my hands which makes my polish lift after only a week or so. I have been contemplating getting a gel set but i used to do acrylics and it seriously took about 2 years for my nails to look normal again once i stopped getting them and I don't want to go down that road again.

I will say for nail health make sure that if you're getting gel polish consistently that your nails are soaked off every time, not buffed off with the drill. When I first started getting gel polish the salon I went to did this because it was faster and it ruined my nails. It took months for them to regrow without bumps and marks.
